The new SanDisk Extreme and Extreme Pro are a new generation where the most important thing is in the type of interface that has been used. Here the company has opted for NVMe M.2 drives with USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 connection with USB Type-C connector that allow maximum speeds of 2000MB / s for the Pro model in read and write. And a not inconsiderable 1000 MB / s for the Extreme model to dry.
Thanks to these values it is possible to use them in practically all kinds of scenarios and to cover those needs that mainly the more advanced users have, those who, as we said before, work with a large amount of information and files that weigh more than usual. Because for small PDF or similar documents you will get the obvious improvement of being much faster, but it will be in matters of managing large files or voluminous backups that its capabilities will be exploited the most.
For the rest, at the design level they maintain the same hallmarks that we already knew. A silicone case that is quite attractive to the touch and resistant enough to withstand the day to day, even the occasional accidental fall. Price and availability
Logically these SSD storage units faster than their previous generation carry a higher price. But if we take into account what other proposals with the same capacity cost a couple of years ago, the price is much more competitive.
SanDisk Extreme V2 drives will be available in capacities of 500GB and 1TB with respective prices of € 159.99 and € 253.99 . There will be a model with 2 TB of capacity that will go on sale soon at a price yet to be determined.
The SanDisk Extreme PRO V2 range will offer two versions, one with 1TB of storage and the other with 2TB that will be priced respectively at 279.99 euros and 482.99 euros.
