Spaniards, the Mate 20 series, has died. At least that is what we can think after taking a look at the latest AnTuTu report that reveals that the different models in this Huawei range will not receive any further updates. Not system anymore, but they won’t even get any more security patches.
And it’s not that we’re talking about too old a range. In fact, the Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro, as well as their different versions, were launched just a couple of years ago, in 2018, boasting at that time of all the benefits and benefits of Android as well as Google services , which the Mate 30, their most direct successors, would end up losing.

Now, the company is ending support for the series and will no longer offer security updates.
End of support for Mate 20
The Chinese tech giant’s official website has removed the names of three devices from its list of EMUI security updates. These are the Mate 20, the Mate 20 Pro and the Mate 20 X. This means that none of these Huawei smartphones will receive the monthly or quarterly security patches.

The 5G exception
Not all the Mate 20 series is going to be without updates as there is an exception in the family. It seems that only the 5G variant of the Mate 20 X will continue to receive future updates, even though the rest of the Mate 20 line is no longer present on Huawei’s list of security updates.
This report has been detected by AnTuTu but we do not know if it is an error or Huawei has something else to say because, as we say, we are talking about fairly recent devices that, although it is logical that they do not continue to receive system updates, they should continue to be able to download and install security patches.
Even with everything, smartphones are within the list of Huawei phones compatible with EMUI 11 so this will be the last software version that phones receive before losing the rest of the security updates . It is worth remembering that Huawei has had to work on Android 10 to give life to this layer of customization, so it is quite clear that the Mate 20, launched with Android 9 Pie, will not receive Android 11.
If the brand communicates new information in this regard, we will update this article with all the news regarding the updates of all the models of the Huawei Mate 20 range .
