The Xiaomi Band is a smart bracelet with a large number of interesting functions to take care of your health, including sleep monitoring. This allows you to know how many hours you slept at night and the quality of your sleep.
It is possible that you have noticed that it is not working correctly and you do not know what is happening. The real culprit might not be the bracelet itself, but rather that you’re not wearing it correctly, and it could happen without you even knowing it.

In any case, if you have tried everything and it does not work, it could be that there is a problem with your bracelet. For this reason, we will tell you how to check what is happening so that your sleep does not register correctly and how you can fix it.
Your bracelet does not monitor naps
This smart bracelet controls your sleep at certain pre-established hours of the day , so if you go to bed at a different time, you probably notice that you are missing data. For example, if you work overnight and go to bed in the morning or in the afternoon, or a few hours before or after what the Xiaomi Band records.

The same thing happens when you take a nap , because your bracelet may not be designed to control naps but night sleep. In case your bracelet detects naps, check that the configuration is correct and that it is long enough for it to detect it (more than 30 minutes).
You do not have the function enabled
You may have inadvertently turned it on when using any other setting or thought that a certain setting would save battery life. Therefore, go to the Xiaomi app, which is currently Zeep Life (or Mi Fit if you have it) and check that the sleep measurement option in heart rate detection is activated.
To improve the sleep control results of your bracelet, you must enable this function in your mobile app:
- Open the Zepp Life app
- Select Profile
- Tap on your bracelet in My devices
- Access Health Monitoring
- swipe down
- Activate the High-precision sleep monitoring option

The strap is not adjusted correctly
If the strap is not properly positioned , the Xiaomi Band’s sensors may not work properly and fail to detect when you are sleeping or your different sleep phases. Therefore, the first thing you have to do is tighten the strap well. Luckily, the Xiaomi Band is very comfortable and you will not have any problems, even if it is well adjusted.

Also check that the heart rate detector is close to your wrist so that it records the data correctly.
You move a lot at night
A problem that many people experience with their smart bracelet is that if they move a lot at night, the function may end up deactivating because it does not detect time as sleep. This is so because it is based on movement and gravity.

The same can happen if you get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom or whatever you need, in that it will not continue to control your sleep when you go back to bed and sleep.
You have not updated the firmware
It may not work well because an update is available on the band itself or in the app. Therefore, make sure that there is not a new version that has improved this function that you do not already have.
It may also be that there is a recent update that affects the sleep measurement, so it may be best to go back to the previous one temporarily or wait for a new version to fix it.
