OnePlus has a portfolio of terminals much more restrained than other brands. This allows you to boast in the updates section but in times, yes in terms of the full of updated models. The fact is that OnePlus, together with Nokia, is one of the companies that more and better update their devices. However, users of the OnePlus 6 and 6T are still waiting to try Android 11.
Android 11 is a reality on more and more devices, as this version arrives natively in many recent releases. The rest must settle for waiting their turn and generally, this turn is reserved for the most recent terminals on the market. This places the OnePlus 6 and 6T in the last step, behind many of its brothers who are already caressing the honeys of OxygenOS with Android 11.
The deployment of Android 11 on OnePlus
The OnePlus 9 series will land on Android 11 when it is presented, presumably next March. Meanwhile, we have attended the OxygenOS update based on Android 11 for the OnePlus 8, being among the first in the market to update and test this version after the Google Pixels. We have also seen how the OnePlus 7 and 7T have begun their beta process of this same version, but there is no news regarding the previous generation.
The latest news has come with an update to OxygenOS 10, which does not come with great news and continues to sow doubts about the arrival date of Android 11 to the OnePlus 6. The update to OxygenOS 11 will be the third and last major system update operating for these devices, launched in 2018 and that in the case of the OnePlus 6, has seen Android 8.1 Oreo, Android 9 and Android 10 in its guts.
Arm yourself with patience
Although both terminals are proposed to be updated, we still have no official news from OnePlus . They may even have to wait for the modest OnePlus Nord to update, before their turn comes. Taking into account that the OnePlus 7 has just started its open beta phase, and that it will be a few weeks before its stable version is released, it is possible that we will have to wait at least until spring for Android 11 to be a reality in the OnePlus 6. Meanwhile, the OnePlus forums are filled with impatient users waiting for some official news from the company, which at least offers an estimated time.
