With the arrival of the latest official version of the most popular operating system, we find ourselves with a great advantage over what we had before. The customization options of Android 12 were expanded with the possibility of choosing the color to use based on our preferences or the wallpaper.
That perk, while noticeably higher, wasn’t enough for many people who want even more perks and options. At the time of using Material You, we realized that the color extras were not really that many and they did not always combine as we like. For all this, a developer known as kdrag0n released Repainter, an app that allows many more advantages.
Dynamic and customizable themes
Unlike the option that comes by default on smartphones that already have Material You and its multiple colors, in this case we come up against a price that we must pay if you want to take advantage of it. Given the popularity of the app and its good performance, the developer decided to put it up for sale on Google Play, which we can reach from the following button.
It is important to mention that its functions will only be available on those smartphones that have Android 12 and also enjoy Material You Dynamic Colors, which we can find out by going to Settings > Wallpaper.
In this case we should find options to choose our theme based on the background color or the basic tones , as we show you. If this does not appear, we will not be able to take advantage of this advantage because the customization layer does not support it.

Repainter and his thousands of color palettes
Once we have the application downloaded on our mobile, it’s time to multiply Android’s color options with a process that isn’t complex, although it requires following a few steps to the letter to achieve our goal. To make it easy for you, we explain:
- We enter Repainter and accept the terms.
- Next, we choose whether our smartphone has Root or not.
- To continue it is necessary to touch Turn on, to activate the developer options.
- The next step is to enable wireless debugging and enable it via code.
- This appears on the smartphone and we must write it in the Repainter notification.
Then we will give way to the initial customization, although later when we finish the introduction tutorial, we will be able to choose all the completed possibilities again. We have an initial tab called Overview, where we choose the colors to use on our Android 12 smartphone, within the palette applied by us or the wallpaper.
In addition, in the Colors tab we will be able to modify that palette among many possibilities, also choosing the background that it contains. All this will be applied later to the menus of the terminal, the icons if we choose so and several Google applications.
