This App is No Longer Shared: iOS 13.5 Bug and its Solution

Although it is not a general failure in all users, a failure has recently appeared in the iPhone when updating applications from the App Store. This is presented in the form of a pop-up message that says “This app is no longer shared” and although it may be somewhat confusing, it has a solution and in fact Apple is already working on removing it.

How to fix the update bug

Like almost all bugs, the detected failure is not present in all devices, but in a good handful of them. This already makes it remarkable enough for us to look for a solution. Although it may seem related to iOS 13.5, the truth is that it is present in other versions of the system. Normally, when you want to update an application in iOS 13, just go to the App Store and download these updates, wait and enjoy the app. However, this bug does not allow it, since at the end of the download the following message appears.

This App is No Longer Shared: iOS 13.5 Bug and its Solution

Normally this pop-up window should only appear in those cases where a family has been configured through iCloud to share apps and purchases, but you have withdrawn access to it. Do not bother to consult the other members if you are in one of these families and do not be scared if you are not in any and you receive the message. As we say, it is a bug that has nothing to do with a real failure.

To be able to avoid it, simply uninstall the app in question and download it again . When you reopen it you will see that you can do it without problem. It is not a very comfortable solution, especially if that app is not linked to iCloud and you will lose the data and settings when deleting it, but it is the only thing that can be done at the moment to continue using it. This method is, after all, the same one that we must follow to eliminate the cache of an app on the iPhone.

When will Apple fix this error?

Update: Apple has proposed to developers a solution to this problem, urging them to release new updates that do not contain this bug.

As it is a specific problem and for which the user is not responsible, it is evident that Apple must be the one who makes some internal change that allows solving this problem. It is happening in a multitude of places around the world and on different iPhone models, so the company is more than aware of this and may be able to fix it very soon. In fact, in the next few hours it could already be solved.

We understand that this is a problem with Apple’s servers, similar to others previously seen in iTunes and other company services, so it will not be necessary to update the software with a version that is iOS 13.5.1 or similar. At least for the moment an update is not planned unless there are faults that do lie in the software itself.

So, we can only arm ourselves with patience, try to solve the problem with the method discussed in this article and wait for those from Cupertino to solve the failure. However, we must emphasize that this problem is tedious, but it does not pose any problem at the level of security on our phones.
