New ultra-high-speed storage solutions are coming to market soon. But, not all users can afford these hard drives as they are usually extremely expensive. If you want a great quality/price ratio, Kingston has presented the NV2, its new M.2 SSDs based on the PCIe 4.0 interface.
Although they are not yet available on the market, M.2 SSDs based on the PCIe 5.0 standard are already beginning to be seen. Such storage drives can offer speeds of up to 14,000 MB/s, which is roughly double that of PCIe 4.0 drives. The arrival of these units, on the other hand, will allow those based on PCIe Gen4 to drop a lot in price.

Kingston NV2 Cheap M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSDs Officially Announced
One of the most important manufacturers of SSD hard drives on the market today is Kingston. This manufacturer offers us different storage solutions according to needs. Not only does it offer mid-range and high-end solutions, it also offers budget drives with tuned performance that is accessible to all users.
The new Kingston NV2 drives are listed as entry-level solutions. Despite being based on the PCIe 4.0 interface , these drives do not offer particularly high read and write speeds. The good thing about these drives is that they come in capacities of 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB.
These new storage units are compact, with a thickness of just 2.2 mm. The memories, controller and cache are installed on the same side. Although it can be installed in any system, these Kingston drives are especially focused on laptops and NUC systems. Also note that this unit is very light, weighing only 7 grams.
When it comes to performance, 250GB drives offer up to 3,000MB/s read and up to 1,300MB/s write, with up to 80TBW of durability. The 500 GB and 1 TB drives offer read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s and write speeds of up to 2,100 MB/s. Note that the 500 GB unit offers us a durability of up to 160 TBW and the 1 TB unit up to 320 TBW.
Finally, the 2TB storage unit offers us a read speed of up to 3,500 MB/s and a write speed of up to 2,800 MB/s. This unit offers us a durability of up to 640 TBW.

Fairly basic SSD drives
As you can see, these speeds are far from the 7000 MB/s that PCIe 4.0 -based M.2 SSDs can offer. But, the idea of these units is to offer high quality solutions with very good performance.
Kinston already sells these storage units in its official Amazon store. The 250GB drive is priced at €47 , the 500GB is priced at €69 , and the 1TB is just €128 . At the moment, the 2TB drive is not available, but it should be around 160-200 euros, depending on the prices we see of the other storage units.
Well, they are very reasonable prices for these storage units with simple features. They are very cheap units and you can’t ask for much more, why fool us.
