HBO Max, like Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, offers us unlimited content of series, movies and documentaries in exchange for a monthly or annual payment. But there are options to watch HBO Max for free at no cost for a specific time.

HBO: Price and plans

HBO Max does not have a free trial period that allows us to test the platform at no cost for a while. Yes, we could get it before but currently, in 2022, we cannot use it without cost, but there are only two plans that we can use or pay according to whether we want monthly or annual permanence.

HBO Max Spain has a monthly plan of 8.99 euros per month with cancellation at any time. Or a plan of 69.99 euros per year that will force us to pay twelve months in advance and that gives us a 35% discount compared to if we decide to pay it month by month. But neither of them have a free trial.

We must bear in mind that there are temporary offers that we can use and others that we can no longer use, specific promotions that may expire once we consult them, although we can take them into account in the near future in case they are activated again. Here are some of the ones that have worked for months, although you may not be able to activate them now, but they should be reviewed from time to time.

Travel Club Offer

Travel Club offers us 30 free days of HBO Max available until December 10, 2022 and the code can be redeemed until December 31, 2022 at 11:59 pm CET. You should keep in mind that it is a 30-day free trial but after the trial, as they explain from HBO Max, “ you will be charged the subscription fee in force at that time for the HBO Max monthly plan (which is currently 8 €.99 per month, plus the corresponding taxes) on a recurring basis” so we must cancel before the end of this period.

How do we get the Travel Club offer? We simply have to go to the HBOMax.com/redeem website and enter the promotional code that we will receive by email from Travel Club. Once we enter the promotional code, we tap on “Get the promotion” and we have to create a new HBO Max account that we have not previously used. We must fill in the payment information but do not worry that you will not be charged anything until after the 30-day trial.

Once you have everything filled out, simply tap on “ Start Subscription ” and “Start Watching” to start enjoying the free series and movies.

As in most offers on this list, HBO Max clarifies: “Codes will be delivered on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. The promotional code is non-transferable. Limit one code per customer. The offer is not combinable with other HBO Max promotional offers.

MastercardFintonic

As they explain from the HBO Max website, the offer was available from January 17 to February 23, 2022, but we should be vigilant in case it becomes available again in the next few days and we can get HBO for free again.

How? The process is simple: by accessing the HBO Max website and entering the code “MastercardFintonic” we can get access to the platform for 1 month for free. There are a few things to keep in mind for this code to work. First of all, you don’t need to be a Fintonic user, you just have to have a Mastercard. Once the code has been entered, we will have to complete a registration form with our data and payment information. This does not mean that we will be charged anything, as we can cancel the subscription at any time . According to some users on the network, it also works by entering the details of a Visa or PayPal card.

One aspect to keep in mind is that it is only valid for new accounts , that is, if at any time you have had an HBO Max account associated with your email, to access this promotion you will have to register an account indicating another email.

Naturgy offer

Another offer available to get 30 days of HBO Max for free is that of Naturgy. As explained on the official website of the streaming platform: “Naturgy and HBO Max have offered a free 30-day trial of HBO Max to qualified Naturgy customers. After the 30-day free trial period, subscribers pay the then-current monthly subscription fee . This offer has been available from March 21, 2022 to May 1, 2022 at 11:59 CET”

Although it is no longer available, it is possible that the offer will return and you should know what the conditions are: be a Naturgy customer, be a new HBO Max subscriber and have not yet had an account and be a resident of Spain and be over 18 years of age.

You simply had to receive an HBO Max promotional code between the dates mentioned and take advantage of the 30-day free trial of HBO Max as long as we have not had an account before and with a code that is delivered on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last. A non-transferable code and a maximum of one code per customer, without being cumulative with other promotional offers.

VIPS Club and Fosterians

Another of the offers of recent times is for members of the Club Vips and Fosterianos loyalty program that allows a free 30-day trial. The conditions are similar to the previous ones: be a new HBO max subscriber and do not have a previous account, be a resident of Spain and be 18 or older and be a new or existing member of the Club Vips or Fosterianos loyalty program.

This promo is no longer available but we can take into account that it may be reactivated soon. In the case of the Club VIPS promotion, it has been available from February 21, 2022 to April 20, 2022. In the case of Fosterianos, the promotion has been available in Spain from February 28, 2022 to April 20, 2022 and we could redeem it until April 24, 2022.

What should we consider

In all the previous promotions to have 30 days of HBO Max, we must bear in mind that a valid payment method must be entered if we want to enjoy them. This implies that we must cancel our subscription before the end of this free period since they will automatically start charging us 8.99 euros (or the corresponding price at the time of subscription) once the free period ends. They all agree on this point: after the trial period, a period will begin in which we will have to pay. So you must cancel before if you do not want to continue using HBO Max or if you do not want to be charged the monthly payment.

The steps to cancel HBO Max are simple from the account:

• Open HBO Max in your browser and sign in to your account
• Go to the top right corner of the webpage
• Go to your profile and open the dropdown menu
• Among the options, look for “Subscription”

Here we will see the plan that we have contracted. The current plan and what we pay each month. We will also see the specific price month by month, the payment method used and the next billing date. We will also see a button that indicates “Manage subscription” that will take us to a new web page where we can change the plan we have contracted, edit the payment method or cancel the subscription.

Here we must go to “cancel subscription” so as not to continue paying HBO Max once the free period offered by these promotions ends.
