There are many factors that can influence the poor performance of our mobile. It does not matter that it is a new device, as we will soon fill it with files and applications that can drag its performance. Today we wanted to take a closer look at the possible performance problems that OPPO mobiles face and how to solve them.
It is very easy to identify or realize that something is wrong with our mobile. What is fast and fluid today, tomorrow may become slow or clumsy to open applications, move through them , play games or watch videos. All of these performance issues undermine what we consider to be a satisfying user experience. Luckily we can always do something to try to fix it.
Poor overall system performance
In this case, the whole system offers a feeling of slowness that it did not have before. The apps open slower, the mobile takes time to enter the photo gallery and in general, we notice a loss of fluidity.
Free up disk space
It is one of the most common causes of poor performance. As space is terminated, the system may have write problems and performance glitches occur. Freeing up space is the first measure to see how the fluidity of the system improves. To do this, we can go to Settings / Storage and use the ColorOS automatic cleaner. Then we restart the mobile and check if the performance has improved.
Reduce the use of Widgets
The excessive use of Widgets or dynamic wallpapers require constant updating in real time, which requires system resources and therefore reduces performance . If after a while we have several assets, it is normal that our mobile does not go so smoothly. We must eliminate some and test if the problem disappears.
Reboot often
It is something that we hardly do but it is very convenient. Restarting the mobile periodically allows you to eliminate broken or damaged caches and achieve a more fluid performance . OPPO recommends restarting your phones at least once a week to ensure performance.
Remove the microSD card
It is an element that we rarely fall back on, but that can be the main culprit for poor performance. If we have photos or applications on the microSD and it is not working properly, it will undoubtedly show the performance of the entire system. The next step therefore is to remove the microSD and test if the problem is resolved.
Is it hot
The increase in the temperature of the mobile phone can cause a temporary drop in its performance. It is a security measure that prevents the processor or other hardware elements from being damaged. This occurs for example when you have been playing a graphically demanding game for a long time or when it is playing and loading at the same time. This can also happen in our OPPO when using GPS navigation for a long time and the mobile heats up.
The solution in this step and the most recommended, is to let our mobile rest completely. This means turning it off completely and waiting at least 10 minutes for the system to return to normal temperature. Then we can turn on the device and see if the performance has recovered.
Update the software
If we have pending software updates, it is more than likely that we are missing improvements in the performance section . An update that does not improve overall system performance after bug fixes is rare. To check it, we go to Settings / System / System Updates.
Bad application performance
In this case, the performance of the system is not bad, but it becomes erratic when entering all or some applications . In this case, we also have a range of options so that the failure disappears and our OPPO goes as before.
Remove and reinstall apps
The first action we must do is remove and reinstall the application when it causes a delay or does not run correctly. If it happens with more than one application we must do the same. Once installed from scratch, we will check if the problem has been resolved.
Close background apps
To prevent several applications from running in the background, consuming resources and lowering performance, we will have to touch on the recent applications menu and close them all at once. We can also close one by one to see how performance improves.
Download and use official apps
On many occasions, apps downloaded outside of Google Play may have some modification in their code , despite appearing to be 100% legitimate apps. This can make them consume more resources and our mobile starts to go slow. The solution is to delete these apps downloaded from unofficial sources and try downloading them from Google Play.
Clear cache
Cache memory is temporary data stored in the phone memory when applications are used on our mobile. Each application has its own cache file and takes up some storage space. Clearing that cache is a great way for the system to rebuild the cache files the next time you use the app and improve performance. To clear the cache of the applications go to Settings / Storage / Clear storage / Delete all.
Poor gaming performance
If what is going wrong are the games, it is possible that our mobile does not have the necessary power to play them and that we need an extra push for the performance to improve.

Check the requirements
It is possible that even with a push of acceleration the game improves. In that case we must check if the game is not compatible with our mobile. However, in other cases, while still compatible, it may not offer adequate performance and make it unplayable. The best we can do is take a look at the manufacturer’s own requirements . In many cases, they can be found in the description of the game itself or on the developer’s website, where more precious information is offered regarding compatible mobiles and technical requirements.
Poor performance when watching videos
Sometimes poor performance can occur only when playing videos. If this happens, the solution may be simpler than in the previous cases, but we must also take into account some points to try to find the solution. The most common is that the video will jerk or not even play.
Type of file
If the video is downloaded or has been sent to us by mail or messaging programs, it is best to check if we can reproduce the type of file, since it may be the reason that it does not look or looks bad. To do this, we go to the file browser and press and hold to see the video information. Its format must be compatible with the reproduction specifications of our OPPO, information that we will have both on the manufacturer’s website and in the user manual.
Open with default player
OPPO recommends that the videos be opened by the “Video” player that integrates the firm’s mobiles. To see if the problem disappears, we will have to open this application or choose it as the default app when asked which app we want to see the video with.
Change player
We can always open the video with a third-party player, we can try with an alternative third-party player, which may be more compatible with its format. There are dozens of players on Google Play. The idea is to download one of them and see if the problem disappears.
If the video is online
In this case, the culprit is not our mobile phone, but the quality of the network can be. We must switch between data and Wi-Fi to see if the video plays correctly.
