New WhatsApp Function Will Save You Trouble When Sending Audios

WhatsApp continues to work to integrate new functions into the app. Yesterday we learned that the application is preparing a new function that will allow us to send reactions to messages instead of having to respond by text. This function is already available in other apps such as Discord, Slack, or on Facebook itself, and now it will finally reach chats. Now, the company has released a new feature in the latest beta.

A few months ago we learned that WhatsApp was working on a new function that would allow us to listen to the audios that we recorded on WhatsApp before sending them . This functionality has been present for some time in other apps such as Telegram, and now we can finally test it.

Listen to the audios before sending them

The new functionality is available in the latest beta for Android , and its operation is quite simple. Currently, when sending an audio on WhatsApp , we press and hold the microphone button, and it starts recording. We can slide up to avoid having to hold down, and we can slide to the left if we want to cancel the recording, or hit the trash button.

Now, as much as when we are pressing as when we leave it pressed when sliding up, an icon of a square appears in the middle of the section that we press to write. That stop playback square allows us to stop the recording at any time we want, and listen to the audio again. To listen to it, a small playback bar will appear above it. Thanks to this, you can go to any moment of the audio you want without having to listen to it in its entirety.

Sound waves as we record

This playback bar with sound waves is also a novelty that appeared a few days ago in the iOS beta, and is now also available in the WhatsApp beta along with the possibility of pausing the audio. Thus, now when recording an audio we can check if our voice is being captured well or if there is ambient noise so that the receiver does not have problems in hearing the audios.

The feature is starting to be available on the app’s iOS and Android betas , and once a feature hits beta, it typically doesn’t take more than a few weeks to reach all stable users. Therefore, if you still do not have it on your mobile, do not despair, that you will soon be able to start using it to send long audios without having to cut voice messages on WhatsApp.
