A Navigation System Will Be Installed on the Moon to Assist Ships

There are many missions that have been carried out on the Moon since the first time that man landed on it to try to get to know it better and study it. It is also planned in the future to create structures there where people could live or even grow plants or extract resources from there.

An American company has joined these works related to the Moon and, in addition to thinking about a landing mission on the satellite in two years, it also plans to create a navigation system very similar to the GPS we know today.

It is being developed together with the American army and once it is finished being manufactured, it will be the first time that a system with these characteristics has been outside of our planet.

Although there have been few manned missions that have been carried out on the Moon, it is taken into account that soon several companies will make more space trips to the satellite with people on board, since there have been many private companies that have innovated in this type of travel and they have made costs much cheaper.

Therefore, a navigation system implanted on the Moon would be of great help for all companies that want to do space missions in the coming years. For example, the US plans through one of its many space programs to go to the Moon within two years with a spacecraft with more than one cosmonaut inside.

All ships heading to the Moon will connect wirelessly to the navigation system through a network system. This system would be very useful since all the aircraft that have done work on the Moon work in the dark.

The fact of creating a global navigation system for all the ships would imply that when developing each aircraft it would not be necessary to add all the navigation systems necessary for their work, so this would mean saving enormous amounts of money in the process of development and construction of these ships.

So far the first phase of the system, which consists of the design, has already been concluded. However, now comes the most difficult part: developing all the systems so that they work perfectly, without errors and that they can withstand the complicated situations experienced on the Moon.

To make this easier, several companies are working together to create the strongest possible system. What is expected is that within two years this second phase will be completed.
