MacOS Big Sur Launch: Apple Confirms Date

MacOS Big Sur Launch

After the celebration of the special event in which Apple has presented its first Macs with Apple Silicon, the company has made official the launch date of its new generation of software: macOS 11 , which is accompanied by the nickname of Big Sur in honor of the homonymous Californian region. This new operating system will be available this Thursday for all compatible computers.

Finally Big Sur arrives!

If last year we checked how macOS Catalina was released later than the rest of the software, this year we have seen iOS 14, iPadOS 14 and the rest of the software in September while macOS Big Sur has continued in beta until this very month of November . The wait comes to an end and although the development process has been slower due to the leap at the software level, it has also been slower due to the hardware, since the Cupertino company has wanted to design each part of the operating system to the millimeter to doing it fully works on newer Macs with proprietary chips.

Is it advisable to update when it arrives?

It has been specified that this update will arrive on Thursday, November 12 , but the time has not been specified. In normal conditions it would be around 7:00 p.m. (Spanish time), but considering that we already had delays in September with the rest of the software, we cannot confirm this time. In any case, we recommend that you pay attention to this medium in which we will inform you at the very moment in which the launch occurs.

Regarding the question we launched, yes, it is advisable to update. This final version is already debugged and offers greater stability than the betas, in addition to offering you all the visual and functional novelties. It also incorporates security measures. However, it is true that it could not be exempt from some small evident flaw in these versions. Be that as it may, if you have a compatible Mac you shouldn’t have any problems.

Despite being advisable to update from scratch by formatting the Mac, it is understandable that this can be tedious. So if you can’t or don’t want to do it, don’t worry. The new versions of macOS are optimized so that it is not strictly necessary to have to delete all our data.
