Pinterest is a social network widely used by many users looking for inspiration, ideas for their business and general visual entertainment. The idea was born in one of Google’s laboratories, called Area 120 , an incubator of ideas where interesting projects usually come out that later come to life in the form of a definitive product. The last seed to flourish is Keen, a portal that, according to its creators, will allow users to browse without thinking, so that we always see content related to our tastes.
You will only have to choose your interests, define which people you want to follow, and the contents will appear to you, probably coinciding with the ideas you had in mind. This is something that does not differ too much on Pinterest, however, the advantage of Keen is that it will use all the power of artificial intelligence available in Mountain View, so the optimization of the service could be more notable than in the case from Pinterest.
Will Google know more about me?
If you use Google services, you shouldn’t be surprised by the amount of information Google has about you by now. If we add to that a service of interests in which to mark exactly what we like and that others especially call our attention, we are putting on the tray the possibility of offering specific advertisements to be fully successful in promoting a product.
At the moment it is not entirely clear on how Google will use all this stored data, so it will be necessary to see to what extent they are used for commercial or advertising purposes. A new attempt in the social world
On the other hand, Keen would join the list of projects trying to get a slice of the pie on social media, a field where Google has continually failed since its inception on Google+. We will see if this idea finally comes to fruition and evolves in the form of a stable branch within the services of the giant, or if, on the contrary, Pinterest reinforces its audience and ends up sinking this first sketch proposed by Keen.
