Our mobiles are full of sensors, which in many cases allow us to have a better experience with the device. However, there are other sensors whose objective is to protect the terminal itself from risk that could cause serious internal failures. One of these sensors allows the charging port to detect humidity, something that sometimes does not work as it should in Samsung terminals.

There are not a few users who report failures with this sensor, and that sometimes they have nothing to do with having wet the phone, although postponed in others, even though our Galaxy is waterproof. When the humidity sensor is activated and to protect the mobile from damage, the USB charging options are disabled. In addition, we will see an icon of a water drop both on the notification panel and on the AOD screen.

Has it gotten wet?
Remove moisture
If the message appears right after the device has gotten wet, the solution is clear as the function will be working properly. In this case we will have to remove the humidity by holding the mobile with the speakers down and shaking it gently. Then we must keep it in a well ventilated place until it is completely dry and the water drop icon has disappeared.
It has not gotten wet and the warning appears
In this case there may be several causes that motivate the failure, for that reason we must make several checks, which in most cases solve the problem. If nothing of the following works, we should think about making a visit to Technical Service, since in that case the USB port could have been damaged.
Remove the cover
It is known that many cases create condensation between the mobile and its insulating layer causing the port to detect humidity and the system does not activate the charge. For this reason we will have to try to remove it from our mobile before charging it and check if the problem disappears.

Dust can be the culprit
Dirt and dust are two great enemies of our mobile. When they accumulate in the charging port, they can cause the humidity sensor to pop, preventing charging. We must therefore carry out a visual examination and with a feigned object like a pin, try to drag out the accumulated dust . The problem should be solved.
Change the charging cable
A simple gesture like changing the charging cable can solve the failure on many occasions. This is due to possible conflicts that cause information errors in the hardware and trigger the sensor without being necessary.
Clear USB cache
In addition to the above tests. Clearing the USB configuration cache can help solve the problem. To do this we go to Settings / Applications and touch the three points and then “System Cache”. Now we go to USB Configuration and enter Storage. Finally, it only remains to touch the option “Clear cache” and restart the mobile . When our Galaxy starts again, we plug in the load to see if the problem has disappeared.
Update mobile
Your Samsung Galaxy may have received a patch that fixes this problem. Some series A terminals have had similar problems. Check that you do not have any pending updates from Settings / System Updates. If so, update the mobile and put it to charge again.
