Constantly receiving notifications on the mobile can lead us to madness, but even more so is not being able to remove them from the control center of our phone. In this guide we show all the options that exist to disable system notifications on your Android device.
The big problem when it comes to editing the way we want to receive notifications is that Android is not uniform across all devices, since each manufacturer uses its own customization layer. However, although they are called differently, the routes are usually practically the same, so you should not run into major problems during the process.
What are toast notifications?
The notifications we receive on the phone could be broadly classified into two segments. The first is the applications installed by the user such as WhatsApp, Facebook and similar, deleting them is as simple as entering the notifications menu within the Applications section of the settings app of your mobile.

On the other hand, the following set of apps refers to system notifications that warn of what is happening with the mobile. Some of the most common in this last segment could be the notification of “the battery is fully charged”, the “screenshot taken”, the “update is ready to be installed”, “the download has been completed” “the mode Do Not Disturb is active “and the like.
It is this set of notifications that is usually the most complicated to configure.
How do I turn them off?
There are several ways to eliminate Android notifications from the mobile since we can use an external app to end them, go through the settings app or do it from the notification center itself.
From the notification center
The latest versions of Android allow you to configure notifications, both from apps and from the system, from the received notification itself. Depending on the customization layer you are working on, you will have to slide and hold slightly to the left or right in the received alert.

Here 3 icons will appear, one with a clock that serves to delay the alert, another with the symbol of a trash can to delete it and another with a gear that gives access to the notification settings . When you receive alerts from the system itself, you can choose which ones to receive and which ones to not or prevent any from being displayed.
Going through the mobile settings
The option to turn off these alerts is so deep within the device’s configuration menu that some of you may end up losing your mind while looking for the corresponding option. Don’t worry, just follow these steps to achieve your goal:
Regardless of the device you have in your hands, this option will be present in it in the configuration app. The following guide is perfectly applicable for any OEM on the market.

- To get started, go to the Settings app on your device.
- Inside, scroll down to the Apps & Notifications / App Management section.
- Then click on See all applications / List of applications
- You will enter a page that by default will only show the applications installed by yourself.
- To show system-level applications as well, tap the 3 dots icon in the upper right and select Show system applications.
- Now that they are no longer hidden, scroll down to the System UI or Android System app.
- Now go to your Notifications Management section.
- Finally, turn off the switch next to the toast notifications you don’t want to receive.

Use Notification Remover
If there is still a system notification that refuses to be removed or that you have not managed to delete with the previous method, you always have the possibility of using an application that can automatically discard any notification that contains a certain text: Notification Remover.
This application that facilitates the automatic dismissal of annoying system notifications and is available for free in the Google Play Store. When installing it, it will ask for access to the notifications that we must grant and then you can create a filter by pressing the big + button in the lower right corner. You will see a pop-up window with three fields: Package Name, Message Text, and Delay. If you want to stop all notifications from an application, for example Android system or system user interface, you just have to type the package name in the top field and press “Save”.
Does do not disturb mode help?
The best way to disable notifications across the board is to tap the Do Not Disturb icon on the notification screen. With this option, you can determine which people, applications, alarms and other services can send notifications to your screen. Of course, not all system apps will obey this mode, so they may not sound or vibrate but still appear on the lock screen or in the notification center.
What if I want to see them again?

In the event that you now consider that you need to find the Android alerts on your mobile again, you can do it in different ways depending on the method used. If you have done it from the control center, since you will no longer receive alerts, you must go back to the path Settings> Applications> All applications> Show system applications Z Android system and activate all the switches that you turned off in the previous steps.
If the method chosen to eliminate system notifications on Android is that of the app, it is easier because you only have to uninstall it from the phone’s memory so that the mobile recovers its normal state.
Android 11 notification history
The latest version of the Android operating system has added a useful tool that will be very useful when we are configuring the alerts we receive. The notifications history allows us to recover deleted or unseen notifications, something especially interesting when, by having them deactivated, we can pass an important notification to us.
To activate it, we access the mobile Settings, then touch on Applications and notifications and select Notification history.

To consult them, simply slide the control center of the phone and choose the option called “History” that will appear next to the rest of the alerts.
