One of the genres that generates the most followers on Twitch is horror. The broadcasts with gameplay of this type generate quite a lot of expectation among the spectators, since the reactions of the live player before the scares and moments of tension of the games ensure priceless moments that many love to see. What determines fear in a game?
As the games have improved in graphics, the developers have managed to convey sensations that previously could not be perfectly represented with four more aligned polygons. More detailed textures, new surround sound technologies and more advanced mapping techniques have helped to achieve incredibly immersive environments that allow the player to move into the context that is shown to them.
That is basically the secret of today’s horror games, a graphic representation very close to reality, disturbing music, terrifying sounds and a setting that our worst nightmares would already like.

On PS4 there is more than one horror proposal with which to have a bad time (or, according to some). These are some of the proposals that you should try, especially those supported by the PlayStation VR, the PS4 virtual reality viewer that turns the horror game directly into a very real nightmare.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
It is a game that we have highly recommended since it is a installment of the Resident Evil saga that knew how to reinvent itself in a magnificent way, surprising the most fans. If the game was already a punishment when playing it, doing it with the PlayStation VR is directly a practice recommended by very few doctors.
Until dawn
Supermassive Games surprised us with this horror adventure and interactive drama in which a group of eight friends spend a vacation in a cabin in the snow before discovering that they are being chased by a serial killer. The game is characterized by forcing the user to make decisions in the moment, something that will allow obtaining numerous endings and being able to replay it over and over again.
Silent Hills
This is basically an honorable mention that we want to include, since a work by Hideo Kojima based on psychological terror cannot be ignored in any way. Unfortunately PT (or Silent Hills as it would later be discovered) was canceled, so for now we still do not know what the final game would be like. Of course, we assure you that with the demo we had enough. Unfortunately the demo was deleted from the PSN Store, so it is not possible to play it again.
Horror games for PC
On the PC side we have a lot of horror games as developers have taken advantage of keyboard and mouse to create really scary first person experiences. It is on this platform that we find mythical games of the genre, which has garnered hours and hours of broadcasts on Twitch.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Possibly one of the most praised games among lovers of the horror genre, since in Amnesia the scares and shocks are more than assured. Here we will not have access to weapons of any kind, since we will only have to arm ourselves with courage and ingenuity to sneak away from the monsters that we will find through the corridors of Brennenburg castle. As much as you regret it, darkness will be your best ally, so upload the brightness to the monitor if you don’t want to have too much trouble. Also available on Xbox One and PS4.
Welcome to the Game II
An extremely original game, since it puts us in the shoes of a reporter who must investigate a series of murders that are taking place around a Deep Web application. We will have to use the personal computer to dive into the depths of the internet and try to find the whereabouts of Amalea, a girl who announced via live streaming that she feared for her life. It was never again heard from her.
Outlast
There is nothing worse than going to an abandoned madhouse because you have decided to investigate a series of strange experiments that are being carried out inside it. You decide to do it at night, and to make matters worse it seems that the asylum has not paid the last electricity bill. With the idea of being able to see something in so much darkness, you decide to use your camcorder with night vision, and believe us, it may not be the best idea for the health of your heart.
SOMA
You woke up in 2014 and you are in PATHOS-II, an installation located at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean that hides quite dark secrets. Your only mission is to escape from that marine nightmare, but it will not be easy, since little by little you will understand things that do not make any sense.
Alien: Isolation
If there’s a movie-based game that’s especially scary, that’s Alien: Isolation. Here we will play the role of Ellen Ripley, daughter of the famous non-commissioned officer who stars in the Alien saga, who will try to find out what really happened to her mother. Armed with courage, you must obtain resources and pull wit to survive between attacks of completely desperate humans and an Alien that will chase you through dark corridors.
