Halo Infinite Already Has an Approximate Release Date: Late 2021

Good news and bad news for the loyal followers of the Master Chief. The 343 Industries team has wanted to release an informative update on the status of Halo Infinite and has communicated that the launch will be scheduled for autumn 2021, that is, we will have to go until the end of the year to get our hands on it.

A much desired Halo

Halo Infinite 2021

You don’t have to be too smart to understand that this Halo is quite special. It is an installment of the saga that should have been ready to accompany the launch of Xbox Series X, however, due to the complications of the pandemic and slow and ineffective development, its creators were forced to delay the game so practically indefinite.

Big fault for this was the terrible reception that Microsoft‘s first look at Halo Infinite showed last July, and that raised all kinds of negative comments about the appearance and graphic finish of the game. We knew it was a version to be completed, but the general impression of the fans was so negative and disastrous that 343 Industries intoned the mea culpa and decided to take the toughest decision of all: delay the game.

One year of correction

Halo Infinite 2021

The game will finally arrive in fall 2021, and so many months of extra development can only mean one thing: they are working hard here. With the idea of calming the waters, the developers have shared new images of weapons, spartans models and even a multiplayer map, some screenshots that look pretty good, however, the real changes come in many of the aspects that failed in the first July demo.

According to the creative director, Neil Harrison, they have polished many of the aspects that they did not like in that demo, since aspects such as indirect light, response of materials or the representation of natural elements had to be significantly improved. Ani Shastry, development director for the graphics team, also commented that things like GPU rendering and variable shading were implemented just before the demo, hence they did not look as they should.

An old acquaintance takes the controls

That Neil Harrison is back at the helm is excellent news. The creative director was part of the original Halo and its sequels until Halo Reach, at which point he decided to depart from the team to be one more fan who would watch from the outside. Since then the franchise has not managed to achieve a level of climax as in previous editions, so the return of Harrison could serve to further boost the good work of this Halo Infinite.

Are you waiting until the end of 2021? That is going to be infinite.
