EMUI 11 Could Be the Latest Version of Huawei’s Operating System

Huawei‘s situation is not being easy at all. The mere fact that their terminals are reaching the market without pre-installed Google apps, no matter how easy it is to install them, is something that is a hindrance that many users do not understand. But if Huawei has shown something, it is that surrender does not seem to be on its roadmap. However, in this roadmap the end of EMUI as we know it could be present .

EMUI 11 Could Be the Latest Version

Huawei was already working on its own operating system, called HarmonyOS, before the United States activated the veto that prevents North American companies from doing business with Huawei. However, the restrictions have accelerated the development and resources that Huawei has put into making its new ecosystem a reality. However, this may spell the end of EMUI , that is, EMUI 11 could be the latest version of Huawei’s operating system.

Will EMUI 12 not see the light?

This means that EMUI 12 could never see the light , if the Chinese firm materializes HarmonyOS for its smart devices. On this occasion, it was Wang Chenglu, director of software development at Huawei Consumer Business Grouo, who detailed that EMUI 11 and Harmony OS increasingly share elements, structure and roadmap. Therefore, EMUI 11 and all its novelties could be the definitive transition towards the great change that the company is preparing.

Harmony OS aims to create a global ecosystem to be present in all types of devices, from televisions, to smart watches, vehicles and of course smartphones. Terminals that are released natively with EMUI 11 will be the first to test Harmony OS 2.0 beta . A recent timeline revealed that Kirin 9000 terminals will be the first to test the platform, followed by Kirin 990 5G and Kirin 810.

An alternative to Android

Recall that Huawei has revealed that Harmony Os is not a replacement for Android, but a new generation of Android. This operating system would be based on AOSP, the open source version of the operating system, becoming an option for any mobile manufacturer. In this sense, it is believed that other Chinese brands such as Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo would also participate in the finalization of the operating system. However, Huawie has also revealed that the entire implantation process could be slower than desired. Once done, the last stumbling block for the Chinese firm will be to convince the user again to bet on its new platform.
