Create your own montage professionally

When starting DaVinci Resolve for the first time, we find a series of configurations with an intuitive interface for any type of user. Initially it asks us to select the resolution of our project, although later we can change the resolution of our project again.

The interface of DaVinci Resolve is very similar to that of any other video editor, and so much so that from Blackmagic design they have incorporated the different shortcuts of the most popular programs such as Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro X.

On the other hand, they offer us the possibility of buying a keyboard with the different shortcuts and even a wheel to scroll through the video without the need to touch the mouse.

DaVinci Resolve is divided into tabs to divide each of its functionalities, and that is why any type of edition begins with adding all the digital media with which we are going to work, be it audio, video or even image using the method click and drag to the bottom.

Once added, we move to the next tab called montage, which offers us the possibility of placing all our clips and audio fragments, in addition to trimming them , to have a first version of our project.

When we already have our rough project, it’s time to shape it, and this part is in charge of the editing part of DaVinci Resolve, offering us a library of effects, which include title generators , audio effects, transitions between the different clips … already existing in the program, in addition to our library of sounds that we would have already imported from previous projects.

Well, we have our clip almost to the end, it is time to apply the color corrections if we have used different cameras, lenses or objectives, since each one provides a different representation of the colors, such as excessive saturation, or simply add a little more lighting to a specific clip, as well as being able to make all these corrections to several clips simultaneously. In addition, the color tab gives us the possibility of reducing the existing noise in clips obtained in adverse lighting conditions such as videos taken at night.

We are almost done. On the one hand, we already have our project almost finished in the absence of correcting the audio tracks if at any time we have had problems when recording any part of the video, giving us the possibility of overwriting that part with externally recorded audio .

Finally, from the delivery tab we can select the format of the video to which we want to export if we had not previously selected one and start with the rendering process. This process will take more or less time depending on parameters such as the number of clips added, effects, corrections, and other parameters that more affect our hardware such as our graphics card and RAM.
