Below we are going to list some of the best alternatives to the traditional symmetrical controls, or PlayStation type, but which are considerably smaller in size and, therefore, are ideal for users who have small hands or who feel uncomfortable with the original controls for its size. In any case and to avoid mistakes, these controls that we are going to recommend are not exclusively for PS4, and in all of them we will indicate their compatibility.

Hori Mini
This controller is officially licensed by PS4, but even so, since it is connected by USB, it is also compatible with PC, PS3 and even Xbox. It has the traditional controls of the PlayStation controls, including the triggers, but with considerably more compact dimensions, making it an ideal control for users with small hands. Incidentally, the cable is 3 meters long, so it is specially designed to play with the console in the living room.
Nacon Wired Compact Controller
The famous manufacturer of controls for PC and PS4, Nacon, also has a slightly more compact version than the original. It really is not much smaller than the original PS4 controller, but it is enough for users who are not comfortable with the size of the original controller but are comfortable with it. Of course all its functionality is maintained, including the touch panel, and in this case it is compatible only with PC and PS4.
Logitech F310
This Logitech remote is one of the longest-running on the market, but even today it is still in the manufacturer’s catalog and for a reason it will be. It is curious because its design of the joysticks is symmetrical, of the PlayStation type, but then the buttons are those of the Xbox. 8Bitdo SD30 Pro
Surely many of you will find the similarity of this controller with that of the famous Super Nintendo, and that is precisely the intention. However, they have integrated two symmetric analog joysticks and the usual triggers, so that it is quite a command similar to that of the PS4. It is wireless, and its compatibility is however limited to PC, Nintendo Switch, Mac OS, Android and curiously also with the NES Classic.
Hori Fighting Commander
Finally, and although it lacks joysticks to be able to call it the PlayStation type, this other control emulates the shape of the SEGA Megadrive, but with the button layout evidently modified. The manufacturer sells it as a specific for fighting games, and therefore has the oversized buttons -although it is small since the joystics have been removed- to press them (or club them) more easily. It is compatible with PS4, PS3 and PC.
