It has been several months since the arrival of a new Apple TV has been rumored and it is three years since a new model has been released. Although it is true that it is not a device very given to annual renewals like others in the company, it is true that all this time since the 4K model was launched it seems too much. Taking into account the new services available, the Californian brand raises a facelift for the components of this device.
Different versions of Apple TV 6
The firm led by Tim Cook introduced last year, among others, Apple Arcade. The exclusive video game platform for Apple devices is in full growth and despite the fact that the number of titles is increasing every month, it has not quite taken off due to their quality. It is expected that in the future promising games will be added that will attract the attention of the most demanding public.
Although an iPhone, iPad and even Mac can be more than enough equipment for this, there is no doubt that an Apple TV could still squeeze much more these video games. But of course, for this team to become a kind of Apple game console it needs a better processor , something that has already been leaked that they will have. Specifically, there will be two versions of this new device, one with an A12Z Bionic (or A12X) processor and the other with an A14X Bionic .
The first of these processors is today the most powerful processor of the company and that even surpasses the A14 (without X). It is mounted by the iPad Pro and it would already be a tremendously powerful device. However, the hypothetical A14X would be even more so, which would be an improved version of the processor mounted on the iPad Air 2020 and the iPhone 12. With this chip, we would already find a team more than capable of moving all kinds of video games around demanding as your graphics are.
We would also find new storage capacities , at least in the most powerful version. There is talk that we would have the possibility to choose between 64 GB and 128 GB, capacities that would double the current 32 GB and 64 GB. Taking into account that the games would occupy more space, the change is understandable and although 128 GB may sound little, it could be more than enough for this task.
Of course, the 4K resolution would remain that of this device. It is considered unnecessary for the moment to go to a higher resolution despite the fact that there are televisions that already support higher standards. The main reason is the little content (practically null) that exists in resolutions higher than 4K.
A new remote control
One of the most criticized aspects of Apple TV in its last two versions is the Siri Remote, that remote control that it incorporates and with which you can control one through the tvOS interface. Although Apple TV can be operated with an iPhone, the truth is that many speak of the control mechanism as something not very intuitive. For this reason the company will add a new control system for this equipment.

Talking about specific presentation and launch dates is more complex, since there is no exact information about it. Next Tuesday, October 13 there will be an Apple event to present the iPhone 12 and possibly the also rumored AirTags. Who knows if this event could also serve for the launch of this Apple TV.
Bearing in mind that one more event is still expected for the month of November, the idea of seeing it there would not disappoint either. In fact, if this event serves to present the new Mac with Apple chips, it could be a good time to show the A14X Bionic processor in both a Mac and this device.
