Now that Moon Knight is about to arrive and Disney Plus has officially announced it on its streaming platform, we have been able to find out the official age rating it has received . And the truth is that, seeing what they have finally given him, it is likely that many of his fans will not like it . We tell you why and what that qualification implies for the character and the development of the series.

We already officially know the age rating of the Moon Knight series on the Disney Plus platform.
And the truth is that, for the most fans of the so-called “Marvel‘s Batman”, the news has not been good and we tell you the implications that this has.
Moon Knight has been rated TV-14, what does it mean?

With a TV-14 rating , which implies that the recommended viewing age is 14 and up and “parental guidance is strongly recommended,” Moon Knight joins the pack of other Disney Plus Marvel series such as Loki , Wandavisión or Falcon and the winter soldier .
That’s been a bit of cold water for some of the character’s most die-hard fans, because it means the series is suitable for almost all audiences and they’ll miss out on the darker undertones of Moon Knight . Let us remember that, in the comics, the initial intention is for him to be a villain and the qualification that we could give him is often that of anti-hero, rather than hero.
Or said easier for all of us to understand, that we can forget that it is a new Deadpool .
The truth is that this makes the character take away quite the edge and the shadows that have characterized him in the comics.
Although some of us hoped that, based on some images in the trailer ( such as when a fallen enemy is being beaten to the ground or with the treatment of his mental disorder), we would have a more adult approach, the truth is that neither We had too many illusions.
Disney was not going to risk it, and more so with television.
Let us remember that, in fact, the first attempt to buy Marvel ended in frustration. The reason was that the superhero brand was too sharp for a company as familiar as Disney.
A decaf Moon Knight? What you are going to miss because of that rating

In practice, and regardless of which comic book storylines you choose to take as your inspiration, a TV-14 rating means you may be forgetting to see some of Moon Knight ‘s darker “best moments” on screen.
Moments like these:
- Moon Knight’s acts of brutality surpass even the Punisher, bordering on sadi***c tendencies. One particularly gruesome incident involves impaling the iconic adversary, Bushman, onto a machine gun and subsequently slashing his face anew. It’s doubtful that such a graphic scene will ever make its way into an episode, to be honest.
- Mark their enemies on the forehead disfiguring them with the crescent moon, in order to inspire fear in criminals.
- Join the secret Society of Sadi**s in order to track down her uncle, who is a former Nazi and serial killer .
- On one occasion, his investigations lead him to a nursing home where a catatonic resident has mentally manipulated people into murder. Your solution? Pull the plug on the machine that keeps him alive without flinching , letting him slowly die.
- To contemplate killing an innocent little girl to save her own daughter. For that, he lets his most violent personality do it, Jake Lockley, who advances towards the girl, but, finally, he cannot do it.
Yeah, we definitely don’t think, at this age rating, that we’re going to see every face of Moon Knight in the comics. Now it only remains to be seen if leaving it decaf is offset by a good story.
