Solution to Black Screen Error in Windows 10 Caused by Antivirus

Windows 10 is full of rare errors, errors that, although seemingly unexplained, are most annoying. As these errors are detected, and begin to affect users, Microsoft usually fixes them to improve the quality and experience of using its operating system. And one of the last errors to be fixed, which was giving many users headaches, is a series of black screens that suddenly appeared on the system and forced the user to restart. And these screenshots seem to be related to antivirus.

Windows 10 installs its own antivirus by default: Windows Defender . This antivirus stands out for being one of the ones that obtains the best marks in the security tests, being totally free and being perfectly integrated into the operating system, having control over all its elements and helping us to be safe at all times.

Despite this, Microsoft Defender is not to the liking of all users, and there are those who prefer to install a third-party antivirus in which they trust their security. And one of the best known and preferred security firms is Bitdefender. This antivirus acts as a complete security suite for Windows , and for all our data, so that we can be protected against all kinds of threats.

Windows 10 and Bitdefender cause black screens

It is not really known why, for a long time this combination is not one of the best we can choose. Many users have found that while using the operating system on a day-to-day basis, it would suddenly show a black screen and stop responding. The explorer.exe process was blocked and, even manually restarting it, it was not possible to continue using the PC.

After much testing, users finally found that by uninstalling Bitdefender and using Windows Defender again, these problems disappeared. After discovering the source of the problem, Microsoft and Bitdefender have been working together to get rid of the error as soon as possible. And finally, this solution has arrived.

The solution to these errors should reach all users soon

Just yesterday, Microsoft released the new build 21332 for Insider Dev users, a compilation that corresponds to version 21H2 of Windows 10. This build brought little news, so it focused on bug fixes. And one of the errors that it solves is precisely that of the black screens.

Microsoft asks Insider users to use Bitdefender Antivirus to update their security software to the latest version. And, after installing the latest build , check that, indeed, these problems have disappeared. And, from what has been seen, it seems that the error is fixed.

At the moment, this patch is in the testing phase only for Insider users. Users of the stable version of Windows should download the latest version of Bitdefender for security reasons, but the black screen issues will not be fixed yet. However, as soon as Microsoft considers that the patch is stable enough it will release it for all users. And eventually these explorer.exe problems will go away.
