With the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 11 just around the corner and January waiting to know the news of the Samsung Galaxy S21, another of the manufacturers that is going to advance the presentation of their phones is OnePlus. Today the news regarding the brand takes us back to the past when different rumors spoke of the launch of a Lite version of its top of the range.
Finally the OnePlus 8 was presented alongside the OnePlus 8 Pro but no other model. However, shortly after, new mid-range such as the Nord or the N10 arrived on the market. Now the leaks, arising from central Android, speak that next year the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro will be presented alongside the OnePlus 9 Lite .
A Lite with very little Lite
Some time ago there were rumors that the future OnePlus range tops would be launched alongside a hypothetical OnePLus 9E with somewhat “shortened” specifications. Now new reports reveal that the company will likely call it the OnePlus 9 Lite and it will reportedly feature the Snapdragon 865 chipset.
So far, all OnePlus series have included the base model and a Pro model. The new 2021 flagship series will feature the latest generation Snapdragon 888 processor but the report states that these OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro will be accompanied by a Lite equipped model with this year’s top-of-the-range processor.
Of course, this change in the processor indicates that its price will also be cheaper than that of the other two models, but beyond this peculiar feature, we do not know what to expect from the phone. It will probably have several characteristics similar to the other models in the 9 series, especially when it comes to talking about the software and the screen, but it is to be imagined that the camera also suffered some other changes.
The leak, apart from detailing the main change between the devices, also ventures to anticipate the possible price of the OnePlus 9 Lite , which would be around 599 euros to change. Curiously, this would be the same price that today we can find in the OnePlus 8T, equipped with the aforementioned processor, so we would have to wait to see what differences there would be between this mobile and the one that the firm launches next year.
It is to be imagined that, if the launch of this OnePlus 9 Lite becomes official, it would go on to compete with models such as the Galaxy S20 FE, the iPhone 12 Mini or the OPPO Reno 5 that will also be launched at the end of this month.
