Problems with Windows updates have been common throughout the year. There hasn’t been a single month that Windows 10 cumulative updates haven’t given users trouble. Some of the issues have been fixed early, either a few days later with some emergency patches, or with the next quality patches. But other failures have remained in the background, such as performance problems when playing games on the PC that, since March, have been affecting a significant number of users.
The March security updates for Windows 10 introduced a significant number of issues. The most important were the failures when printing from the PC, and a series of performance problems when running certain games in the operating system. The bugs with the printers, although not in a hurry, have already been fixed by Microsoft. However, performance issues took a backseat. The cumulative patches for April, May and June arrived, and these bugs were still present in the OS. Up to now.
Microsoft already tests the solution to Windows 10 performance problems
The issues that users experienced while gaming were of all kinds, ranging from FPS lows to screen stuttering, graphic anomalies, and even complete game crashes and shutdowns. Whatever failure it is, a nuisance that, on a system like Windows, should not be allowed.
Initially, in the April patches these problems should have been fixed. However, a number of new issues caused the fix to be disabled automatically, remaining up in the air until now.
The new June 2021 quality patches for Windows 10 finally include the patch designed to address these performance issues. These patches are currently only available to Windows 10 Insider users, although they should reach all users this week. As the company indicates, the patches should correct the problems with the games introduced by KB5000842 .
We can install the new patches manually this week, or wait until July 13, Patch Tuesday, for this new quality patch to be installed along with the other cumulative security patches.

In addition to these performance issues, another major bug to be fixed is related to the Windows News and Interests plug-in.
