Windows 10 21H2, Sun Valley , promise to be one of the biggest updates seen for Microsoft‘s operating system. This version of the operating system will bring a lot of changes spread throughout the system, making it look like a totally new version of the OS. Many of the changes that we will see in this new version will be found in the aesthetic section, such as the rounded corners or the new icons that will reach the menus, windows and programs. But we will also find new animations that will make it seem that the operating system works much more fluid.
Although they are usually quite sneaky, Windows 10 has a series of visual effects that are reproduced, for example, when using the start menu or when opening windows, when maximizing or minimizing, among other actions. These effects, although they have been retouched since Windows 7, since 2015 they have not received more changes. For this reason, with the passage of time, they have made the system seem heavy, as little fluid.

Now, with the arrival of Windows 10 21H2 , Microsoft has finally decided to tweak these effects, revamp them, and make the system appear much faster and smoother.
The new visual effects, or animations, of Windows 10 21H2
Microsoft already referred to these new Windows effects last February . Alongside changes to the taskbar, the start menu, and rounded-corner windows, the company has been working on a number of new effects that will play when opening, minimizing, or closing windows or programs. These new effects are intended to give the system a “faster” and “softer” touch.
The new system effects will be included in windows and other items, such as the start menu. And, in addition, they will be part of the design of Fluent Design , the new aspect that is increasingly integrated into the operating system. These new effects will apply equally to Modern UI windows and programs as well as Win32.
Microsoft ensures that these new animations have already passed internal tests. Therefore, very soon we will be able to see them in the Windows 10 21H2 Insider builds.
Windows 10 “Sun Valley”: the update we all expected?
Of course, Microsoft has put the batteries (and a lot) in the development of Windows 10. Although the operating system is on its way to 6 years (we remember that it was launched in the summer of 2015), the company has managed to maintain and renew it very well , offering users a modern and updated system.
It does not look like we will see Windows 11 in the short term, as Microsoft still has much more to offer with Windows 10. And proof of that is all that it is preparing for Sun Valley. These new features and improvements should reach all users this fall in the form of a free update. But before we can update our PC to enjoy these news we will have to go through the spring update of 2021, 21H1. This update, which could arrive at any time, will be a small update focused on correcting bugs and errors. And prepare the teams, of course, for 21H2.
