How could it be less, Microsoft wanted to end the year in the same vein as all of 2020, that is, with all kinds of problems with updates. Last week, operating system users received a new cumulative security patch, KB4592438 , dismissing all kinds of updates until next January 2021. And, although everything seemed to be going well, unfortunately it seems that the update did not actually it was working as it seemed. The errors, although they have been slow to appear, already fill the support forums and social networks.
In addition to fixing all the bugs and security problems found in the operating system, this patch also fixed other quality errors that were causing headaches for users. For example, this patch fixed a bug with certain SSD drives that caused blue screen shots for users. An error that had been present in Windows since last May.

Problems after installing patch KB4592438 in Windows 10
The update KB4592438 is the one that has reached users of the 2020 versions of Windows 10, that is, 20H1 and 21H1. However, users of the 2019 versions (1903 and 1909) who have installed their corresponding patch (KB4592449) have also experienced similar problems.
The first problem users face is installing the update. This one, which should arrive and be installed through Windows Update , is giving problems showing generic error messages such as 0x8007000d and 0x800f0922, among others. Some users may see a message that some files are missing, and in the worst case a blue screen that prevents them from continuing.
But these are not the only problems that users face. Many also claim that since they have installed the KB4592438 patch, Windows 10 has started to slow down, taking a long time to open certain applications. A considerable increase in the use of CPU and RAM memory has also been noticed, reaching peaks of 100%.
Users of AMD processors have had special problems since the installation of this patch, suddenly encountering blue screens and errors when opening certain tools, such as CMD.
Fix problems with the latest patch
Microsoft, for now, has not made any statements about these problems. In addition, as we have anticipated days ago, the company has decided to pause all kinds of updates (both of the current versions of Windows 10 and of the Insider program) throughout the Christmas period. Therefore, a priori, we will not see any update of this patch that fixes these problems.
If we are having problems installing the update, then the easiest thing is to ignore it, directly. We can choose to postpone the updates until next month (taking precautions, yes) and forget about it.
In case you have already installed the patch, then things change. Although there are users who claim to solve problems with some changes in the registry, we recommend that you choose to uninstall the update. After doing so, we will simply pause the updates so that they are not installed again and that’s it, until next month when, hopefully, these problems are fixed.
