We still do not know when we will finally see Apple‘s iPhone 12. We know there will be four models in three different inch sizes (5.4, 6.1, and 6.7). The design in general lines was leaked several months ago, discovering how the Cupertino company had been inspired by the legendary iPhone 4 and the current iPad Pro when defining the style of the phone’s edges. However, there are still unknowns regarding the ‘notch’ or if the ‘Pro’ models will add any more lens to their triple camera. Until it is officially discovered we have to settle for renders and concepts like the ones we see in a video that we will talk about below.
iPhone 12 like this, dream or reality?
On the Concepts iPhone YouTube channel we can find, as its name suggests, numerous concepts related to Apple smartphones. In recent months they have created a multitude of videos around the iPhone 12. We found the last one just 3 days ago and possibly the most imaginative, since in much of what it shows we find contradictions to known rumors. The video in question is the following:
At a general level, we can highlight how from this channel the montage is taken care of in detail, even finding similarities with the way in which Apple itself usually makes its spots. Perhaps this is not the most worked in this area, but there are some others that could perfectly pass as commercials for the Californian company. Going into detail about the video, we can see that these would be the most ‘Pro’ models since they have features such as a quad camera or a front with a reduced notch . We also see interesting details such as the rectangular frames and that the camera module barely protrudes from the body of the device. In terms of colors, silver, purple and a golden color with a darker hue than seen so far stand out. What is seen as reality are the visual novelties of iOS 14 that we are already seeing in beta versions.
As a concept it is very good and possibly a majority of fans of the brand would sign that these are the phones that Tim Cook will show in the coming months. But we have to be realistic and say that, barring surprise, the iPhone 12 (and the 12 Pro) will not be like that. The controversial front eyebrow that these teams add from the iPhone X could continue to be the same size according to the leakers closest to Apple, just as it is not expected that another camera will be added in any model, although it is in doubt if they could incorporate a LiDAR sensor in return. Regarding colors, the bet of this concept also seems risky, especially for purple, but perhaps this is the point that could come closest to reality.
Apple confirmed the delay of its new iPhones
Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, the possibility that we would see iPhones later this year due to the delays caused in their development and subsequent production has been warned. And although the most optimistic refused to fully believe this information, it was Tim Cook himself who confirmed that “several weeks will be delayed.” The big unknown at this point is to know how much this delay will be and if it will affect the presentation date, since they are always usually shown at least a week before they are put on sale.
Some analysts like Jon Prosser suggest that they could be presented in the week of October 12 , probably through an online event similar to the last WWDC 2020. This would place the launch in later weeks, but only for some models. It is estimated that the ‘Pro’ models could even be delayed to November. Taking into account the delays in production and the low initial stock that there will be, it could be perfectly feasible that some buyers would not have their iPhone 12 until 2021. Although being honest and in a time as complicated as the one we are having to live, I hope all the misfortunes that we live were these.
