Final iPhone 12 Design Almost Confirmed

It will not matter if it is released in October, November and even December. The iPhone 12 is already more than developed by Apple and the manufacturing machinery is already working at full capacity. Apple encountered numerous problems during the development phase and to this was added the COVID-19 pandemic, which has made this phone include interesting changes, but not all those that were expected by the staunch fans of the Californian brand.

Four iPhone 12 and the same notch

The notch of the iPhone released by the ‘X’ model in 2017 has filled lines and lines of the media and forums where Apple is talked about. This eyebrow of the apple smartphones was a great solution three years ago to be able to couple the delicate sensors that allow you to configure faces with Face ID, the best facial recognition that exists today. But already in the middle of 2020 it was expected that at least the ‘Pro’ models could at least reduce the size of this notch. It seems that finally it will not be like that.

Final iPhone 12 Design Almost Confirmed

There will be four models that Apple will end up launching, in three different sizes. On the one hand the cheapest models with 5.4 and 6.1 inches and on the other hand the 6.1 and 6.7 inch ‘Pro’ models. All of them will have the notch in common, since they all include a notch of the same size on a body that would be reminiscent of the classic iPhone 4 for its more rectangular edges and rounded corners. They will even have OLED screens all of them, although the more expensive models are expected to have better panels.

At the back, everything indicates that we will find a double camera for normal models and a triple for professional-focused models, which would not have a LiDAR sensor as rumored. The idea was to include this sensor and enable new functions that also appeared in the most recent iPad Pro, but for some reason unrelated to the company’s plans, this sensor had to be removed from the rear and they will be practically identical in this sense to the ones. iPhone 11 Pro, although with interesting improvements to the lenses.

All this has been cooking for months and there is practically no analyst or source close to Apple to confirm otherwise. It seems that these iPhone 12 will be models of transition towards the great change that will arise in 2021. For practical purposes they could be called iPhone 11s, although they will not do so because that nomenclature would remind too much of the tragic attack that took place in New York on September 11, 2001.

So, we only have to bite our nails while waiting for official information about the filing date. Analyst Jon Prosser pointed to the week of October 12 as the key to a special company event that, like WWDC 2020, will be held online. Although last week Apple made the mistake of scheduling a YouTube live for September 10 that misled everyone, but for now it seems more a simple test than a blunder. We will remain attentive to any information in this regard.
