Everything related to languages , both personally and especially in the professional world, has been very important for decades. This is something that has become more evident with the arrival of the Internet and instant access to content from around the globe. Hence, programs and platforms such as Windows Translator have not stopped gaining importance for most.
Many of you will probably remember when years ago the first programs that served as translators began to arrive at our teams. We installed these on the PC so that they would offer us that translation service in the best possible way and on the spot. This, as you can imagine, saved us the fact of having to use almost constantly the once very useful paper language dictionaries.

Of course, these first programs to translate both words and texts are the ones that later gave way to the powerful applications and platforms that we have today. There are many translators that we can use at the moment, some more complete and complex than others, but most more than useful. In this way we save a lot of time on these translations, whether for professional, personal or educational-related reasons.
What do current translators for PC offer us?
First of all, as many of you may already know, these are utilities that we can use both locally and online . The first of the modalities is actually applications that we install on the computer like any other. From there we can use them and solve our doubts and problems. But on the other hand we also find platforms that work in the cloud . These save us from having to install additional software on the computer, since all the work is carried out from the web browser.
To say that these are solutions that have evolved a lot since their first steps. At this time they allow you to translate individual words, phrases, or even complete Word documents, for example. Once we know all this, if there is a proposal of this type that many of you know and that you have surely used on many occasions, that is Google Translator .

But that is not the only proposal we have at hand, far from it. We tell you all this because perhaps many of you are unaware that Windows 10 itself offers us its integrated solution in the system for this type of work. It is a UWP application that we can access by simply typing the term Translator in the search box on the taskbar. In the same way, we will always have the possibility of looking for the program in the Start menu and starting it to benefit from it.

Also to say that this program presents us with some interesting functions that may surprise us at the same time that they are very useful to us.
Get started with Windows 10 Translator
Once we start the translator that we refer to here, it gives us a series of tips for use. These will be useful to us in order to get the most out of the program. Therefore, we are informed that it can be integrated into Cortana and other functions of interest that we will talk about later.

Once we have seen these initial tips, we can now take a look at the translation application as such. Here we find the usual user interface in this type of program. Thus we see two panels, one where we enter the original text on the left, and another on the right where the translation is carried out. At the same time, we find two small boxes a little above where we specify both the input and output languages that we want to treat at that moment to the application.

Other alternative ways to use Windows translator
That is the traditional way we use most of the programs of this type, but it is not the only one that we will find here. If we take a look at the top of the main interface, by default we find the marked text mode, which is the one we have told you about. But at the same time, if we click on the Voice tab, as you can imagine, we have the possibility of adding the text to be translated, directly through dictation. To do this we just have to click on the green button in the shape of a microphone, to be able to start dictation.

Changing the third, something that will surely be very striking in this case, is the possibility of translating from an image. For example, if we have a photographic file with a text in English, we just have to upload it to this program for it to be translated. And it is that this Windows translator is responsible for recognizing the characters of the photo itself, to provide us with a text already translated into the output language.

Finally, it is also worth noting that in the event that we have a device with a touch screen, this translator also allows you to enter text freehand. In this way, the program adapts to the needs of most users, as we can see.
Additional Translator Features
To all this we can add that the program is compatible with a huge number of languages . These will be valid for both the text input and the resulting output. In turn, we will tell you that we have a history of entries , in case we want to repeat translations made in the past. To do this, we just have to go to the History section that we see at the top of the main interface.

On the other hand we will tell you that through the button that is represented by three horizontal lines, we can access the program settings . It proposes a series of parameters to further adjust its operation. Thus we can specify the country of the main languages that we use, if we want to hear a male or female voice, light or dark mode in the interface, font size , etc.
