One of the problems of the mobile that can give you the most problems is that it does not ring like dinner, you receive calls, especially if you use the phone to work. The reason that your Android does not ring when they call you can be due to several different causes and today we are going to try to solve each and every one of them.
In the worst case, your phone may be physically damaged or infected with malware, but most likely, you have inadvertently muted or some aspect of your phone settings is preventing you from knowing when someone tries to contact you .
Fix the ringtone of your mobile
That the volume is disabled, that you have configured the airplane mode or the do not disturb mode, that the call forwarding prevents the smartphone from working correctly, that the phone app has been damaged … We collect everything you can do to fix the mobile.
Do you have the volume turned off?
On most Android phones, there are four sliders that control the sound the phone makes: media volume, call volume, ring volume, and alarm volume. The ringer volume is what makes you hear or not your mobile when they call you, while the call volume adjusts the sound during a phone call.
Check that the ring icon (usually a bell) is not at the minimum but, to clear up any doubts, you can raise all the sliders and go testing until you detect the one that controls the ringtone.
Have you configured the speaker phone or other multimedia speaker?
The rise of Bluetooth speakers, smart devices and headphones means that mobile sound may not be emitted from the phone itself. The latest versions of Android, from the volume control, allow you to control the medium from which the sound of the phone will be heard but, again to avoid complications, the thing is that you check if you have the smartphone synchronized via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth with other equipment that is preventing you from receiving calls with sound.
Verify that airplane mode is not activated
When this mode is enabled, phone calls are sent directly to voicemail. This would imply that not only are you not going to listen to the calls but you are not even going to receive them. However, it is possible that the configuration will be misadjusted after exiting this mode and you will have to activate it and deactivate it again to check if you hear the ringtone again when you are called.
Do not disturb is off?
When this feature is activated, you will not receive any notifications, including sounds for incoming calls. That is, you will receive calls and messages but the mobile will not ring.
This option can be enabled or disabled manually from Settings> Notifications> Do not disturb> Turn on , but there is also an option that allows it to be configured automatically and that it is enabled at a certain time or when the user goes to sleep.
Check that this is not the cause of the problem that makes the mobile not ring when they call you
Check that call forwarding is not activated
Some older Android phones have call forwarding settings that involve contacting the carrier but today this setting can be enabled from the phone app settings.
If you had it activated, you should not receive any type of alert or call but it never hurts to check that it is deactivated to rule it out as the source of the problem you are suffering.
Check if it’s a ringtone problem
If you downloaded ringtones from a third-party app, it is quite likely that the software will cause the sound to fail when someone calls you. Try switching to one of the phone’s preset ringtones and see if that solves the problem.
You can do it from Settings > Sound and vibration > Phone ringtone
Perform a factory reset
If you have tried all the possible solutions that we have left you along these lines and nothing has solved the problem, the phone may not ring due to a malfunction in the system that would imply that an app is hindering the proper functioning of the phone or that some malware has crept into the terminal.
In this case, you can return the smartphone to its original state from Settings > System > Backup and reset> Reset phone> Erase everything , not without first making a backup, as this will erase all the data stored on the mobile.
Check that it is not a hardware problem
If after returning the mobile to its original state, everything continues to fail, it is likely that the phone’s speakers may have been damaged in some way, even if you are able to listen to other types of audios with the smartphone. If this is the case, contact the manufacturer of the phone or the store where you bought it to check the warranty on the phone and see what can be done.
