There is no doubt that Batman is one of the DC characters with the longest journey in the world of comics. With more than 80 years of history behind him and multiple creative teams behind his legendary comics, it is inevitable that the character has had to go through different stages that have served to offer fans several important logos and redesigns of his name. The fact is that, starting in July of this year 2022, we will have a new logo for the batman.

Modern vs old, does it change so much?
This event will occur in issue #125 of the DC Rebirth Batman series. Until this new comic, the logo consisted of the bat symbol with the character’s name superimposed, but this new one will be the other way around, with the bat superimposed on the name, all with reddish colors. The last time that Batman underwent a redesign of this style was in 2011, with the beginning of the highly controversial stage of the New 52 . Right here below, in the center, you can check what those changes will be, compared to two others (on both sides) that have been in force in recent times.

There are those who theorize that this alteration in the logo could be related to the change in the creative team, and it is that originally this series was in charge of Jorge Jiménez and James Tynion IV, a duo that worked on events such as Joker War , or Fear State , until the second left DC after Batman # 117 was published to focus on other projects. It was there that the group made up of Williamson and cartoonists Makil Janin and Jorge Molina began working on the collection of the best detective in the world, although this trio only lasted a single story arc. The first would also abandon Batman after The Death of the Justice League , a comic in which it is theorized that they could kill Bruce Wayne himself.
Inspired by The Batman ?
From there, the Batman series will return to the hands of Jorge Jiménez, this time accompanied by Zdarsky. According to the latter, in this new story arc they are going to introduce a new villain, Failsafe, who promises to be the equivalent of Doomsday (Superman’s nemesis who gave so much to talk about in the 1990s) but in this case for the Dark Knight .

If we get deeper into the new logo, you don’t have to be too smart to see parallels with another that we’ve recently seen in theaters , such as the one from the movie The Batman , starring Robert Pattinson. Without a doubt, this change in the comics could be designed to capitalize on the resounding success of the new film directed by Matt Reeves and that promises a continuation over the next two years. This would not be the first time that a logo redesign has been made based on a project for cinemas or television. The New 52 , for example, was partially inspired by the Batman logo that we can see in the well-known Batman Arkham video game saga .
Batman # 125 will go on sale on July 5, 2022 in the United States, while for Spain we will have to wait and see how the distribution agreements go, so the arrival in stores could take a little longer.
