Within the settings of our mobile, there is one that we all use yes or yes continuously. We refer to the rotation or screen rotation, which allows you to vary and adapt the vision between a vertical and horizontal mode. Many users have it locked and change it manually when necessary. Others leave it on permanently to access landscape mode automatically. But what about the startup screen desktop ? Why doesn’t it rotate the same way?
Sometimes, finding a certain setting cannot be easy, given the amount of menus and sub-menus that today’s mobile phones have. For this reason, the search box was integrated that makes it easier to find or download that we have some functions. Being able to rotate the mobile is something simple, but finding the option for that to also happen on the desktop may be less obvious. Many users turn to third-party applications to do so, not knowing that they have the option available natively. For this reason, we are going to see how we can make the home screen also look horizontal.
How to put the desktop horizontally?
Putting the desktop in landscape mode or what many know as “tablet mode”, is useful for certain occasions, since it allows one-hand operation in a very comfortable way. This is useful when we must reorganize the desktop or spend most of the time playing or watching multimedia content. As we say, the function is disabled by default in many brands. To activate it we will only have to enter the settings of the home screen.
Once inside, we must check the box “Allow rotation of the Home screen” or “I rotate to landscape mode”. Then we can go to the desktop and turn the mobile to check that the entire screen, the icons and the background, adapt the new horizontal mode. If the option does not appear on your mobile, it will not be possible to activate this option.
Do you have drawbacks?
If it is something that we are going to use daily, we can adapt the icons to this horizontal mode, but it is possible that one of the drawbacks is the disorganization in this mode. Also, it is possible that the battery is affected, especially in the involuntary screen changes as a result of having the function activated. On many occasions, a variation can cause the landscape mode to be activated, since we will not be able to adjust the degree of rotation in which it comes into operation.
