Vivo Confirms Its First Phones with Zeiss Optics

One of the firms that is focusing the most on this section of hardware is vivo, who has just revealed one of the great novelties for their 2021 mobiles.

Perhaps the best known is that of the German firm Leica with Huawei, which has been behind its camera technology for years. Now, in a similar move, vivo has signed an agreement with ZEISS , the famous manufacturer of optical equipment, which from now on will collaborate with vivo to improve camera technology in the most powerful mobiles.

As reported by vivo in a press release, within the collaboration agreement, vivo and Zeiss “will establish the ZEISS vivo Photography Laboratory (vivo ZEISS Imaging Lab), a joint R&D program to innovate mobile photography technology for the most outstanding smartphones from vivo. ” According to data from vivo itself, to date, vivo has created R&D centers for photography worldwide, employing more than 700 people specialized in R&D.

Where will we see this technology?

As we have commented, vivo has confirmed that the vivo X60 , which are yet to be presented, will be the first terminals of the firm to release this technology. The benefits of both terminals have been leaking in recent weeks. They are expected to arrive as the vivo X60 and the X60 Pro. Both will feature a 48-megapixel main sensor, and the more powerful model is expected to offer 5x optical zoom, with 60x digital zoom. At the moment we do not know the official date of presentation of both terminals, so it only remains to wait for confirmation from vivo.
