Apple‘s iPhone SE series has always been characterized as the cheapest model, but also the most limited. The design of the latest generation of this range has sparked controversy again by continuing to integrate a sensor in the lower part. A somewhat outdated measure that could disappear in the next release according to the latest renders that have come to light.
Even before the presentation of the current version, rumors about the next generation of the iPhone SE were already the order of the day. Users have become accustomed to an aesthetic line that has long said goodbye to buttons to control the device. So this change would be a success on the part of the Cupertino company, although it remains to be seen if it is not accompanied by a price increase as happened with the iPhone 14 family.
The revolution of the iPhone SE 4
YouTube content creator Jon Prosser, also famous for being part of the FrontPageTech team, has teamed up with graphic designer Ian Zelbo to create the first renders of the iPhone SE 4 . In this way, we have a first look at what the next smartphone in this range would look like, which comes with great and notable changes.
Prosser notes that the images are based on information previously provided to him by a source. In addition, he indicates that he could not obtain the specifications of the phone from the American brand, although he learned that the fourth generation of the iPhone SE would boast a 6.1-inch screen . This represents a great evolution compared to the 4.7-inch screen that the current model has, which guarantees us a much larger size.
Instead, the renders show that the mobile only has a single camera on the back along with a flash, so in this aspect everything remains the same. On the front, it is equipped with a selfie camera and a large notch that is reminiscent of the iPhone 13, but, above all, the iPhone XR in particular. It is unknown if this space is reserved for a TrueDepth camera system for facial recognition via ID.
The big change
However, the most outstanding feature of the iPhone SE 4 according to the renders is that it does not have a physical fingerprint sensor through Touch ID, which has been the norm during all the members of this series. This represents a real advance that allows better use of the surface to offer a higher quality screen. On the other hand, rumors suggest that the next device could have a side fingerprint sensor.
The resemblance to the iPhone XR is obvious, but this is nothing new from Apple. Mainly, because it is a tendency of the company to replicate the design of its old terminals . They already demonstrated it with the first iPhone SE and its close resemblance to the iPhone 5S, as well as the following did the same with the iPhone 8.
Finally, the leak reveals that the iPhone SE 4 would come in three colors: Midnight, Product Red and Starlight. Its launch is scheduled for 2024 , so there is still a long wait to see if this big change finally becomes a reality.
