Among the many problems that can arise on our mobiles we find that of the backup , a problem that has been appearing on Android for a long time. Occasionally the Google Drive system which Android phones take advantage of to make the backup is affected by inconveniences that can leave us in a difficult situation.
Luckily, there are methods that we can follow to fix these problems, some more classic and others more complex, but that in one way or another can allow us to use the backup on mobile again . We recommend that you check each of these problems so as not to throw in the towel earlier than you should and keep dragging a problem that can be left without important contacts or files when changing mobile phones.
We try to perform the backup manually
It is likely that we have received a notion informing us that the backup has been impossible , at which point we realize that something is not going as it should. Given this we have the possibility of trying to do it manually just by accessing Settings> System> Backup. In this case, chances are we can’t achieve our purpose either, and that’s when the tricks to fix it begin.
Check internet connection
The first thing we must do to solve the failures with the backup is to check that we are connected to the WiFi or mobile network. If this is the case, we recommend that you do a speed test to find out if there is a problem with the signal that is preventing the copy from being made.
Blame it on Google Drive
In more than one case the problem has been based on Google Drive, the popular platform from which Android mobiles are sung to make the copy, including applications such as WhatsApp. Due to a specific failure, the error message may appear on the copy, leaving us two methods to get it working again.
Clear Google Drive cache
As a first solution we recommend that you delete the cache memory of this application, a process in which we will not lose any files and we will only delete timeless files that may be preventing its correct operation. To carry it out we go to Settings> Applications> Google Drive> Storage to finally clear the cache and all the data.
Check Storage
We cannot rule out the possibility that the free Google Drive storage has become full. We have 15 GB without having to pay anything in return and in this space we must count all the files that we upload to Google Drive, Gmail emails and the backups that cause us problems.
In the Google Drive app we have a drop-down menu where we can see how much we have available to download this bug if we have at least 2 GB available or otherwise we will have to delete documents stored in the cloud for the backup to work correctly and not be repeated problems.
An old problem that had been fixed
Throughout the year 2019, Google reported a problem linked to the June security patch on all Android phones. This error affected millions of users worldwide and we could be suffering again. The solution at that time was somewhat difficult to relate but at least effective.
The only thing we have to do to eliminate this error is to go to Settings> Security and eliminate any type of security method. Then we try to make the copy manually and we can leave it configured with a pattern, pin or as we wish.
