In a mobile market in which the price ceiling is getting higher, it must be recognized that cheap mobiles offer us better and better features at very tight prices. It is the case of the newcomer Xiaomi Redmi 9C and the Huawei Y6p we face two of the mobiles that offer more for less.
Two mobiles that offer us quite surprising characteristics if we take into account that their price exceeds by little more than 100 euros, which is undoubtedly more than affordable. Two phones that we face to know which is the best purchase.
Screen and dimensions
We are facing two phones that offer us a fairly large screen, far exceeding six inches. In the case of the Redmi we have a 6.53-inch with HD + resolution . In the case of Huawei we have a somewhat smaller one, 6.3 inches with HD + resolution , both mobiles have a notch in the form of a drop of water and have fairly thin edges for their category.
Regarding dimensions, the Redmi measures 164.9 x 77 x 9 mm and weighs 196 grams, while the Huawei is 159.1 x 74.1 x 9 mm in size with a weight of 185 grams. Therefore the latter is more compact and also weighs less, but its screen is somewhat smaller.
Performance
We are facing two entry-level mobiles, so we can not expect spectacular performance, but we can expect more than enough for day to day. Both have MediaTek processors, the Redmi a Helio G35 and the Huawei a Helio P22 , two processors that offer similar performance, although in the case of the G35 somewhat more oriented to gaming, within its limitations.
The Redmi comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. While the Huawei offers 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, in both cases expandable through cards.
Camera
In this section there is enough equality between both terminals, because both have triple cameras, which is quite an achievement for such cheap phones. Both have a 13-megapixel, 5-megapixel, and 2-megapixel configuration.
Although the difference is the type of sensor, main, macro and depth in the 9C and main, ultra wide angle and depth in the Huawei. In the front camera section, selfies are taken with a 5-megapixel sensor on the Redmi and an 8-megapixel sensor on the Huawei.
Battery, connectivity and software
Another section of maximum equality, since both boast a large battery of 5000mAh , being compatible in both cases with 10W fast charge. In its favor, Redmi has Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, being only b / g / n in the case of Huawei, so there is no access to 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.
They both have a fingerprint reader on the back, as well as a microUSB port. Both have Android 10, with MIUI 12 and EMUI 10.1, but in the case of Huawei, we do not have Google services as usual.
Price and conclusion
We are facing two phones that offer us a lot for very little, since the Huawei Y6p can currently be purchased for 135 euros, while the Redmi 9C is not yet for sale in Spain, but it is expected that it will arrive for about 120 or 130 euros . At almost equal price there are some aspects that make us lean towards Redmi .
It has a larger screen, a new, somewhat more powerful processor , better Wifi and of course, Google services and apps. For its part, the Huawei has more RAM and storage, a better selfie camera, and in general it is a fairly similar mobile, although its biggest drag is undoubtedly the lack of Google apps and services, something we are inclined towards Redmi clearly at a very similar price.
