This will surely be the year in which we have met more Xiaomi phones and its different brands. Its range is already endless in many aspects, and more with the launch of the latest Redmi. Huawei is also at a good pace, and today we face the interesting Huawei Y9a and Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 , a difficult decision in the cheaper mid-range.

So let’s check what these two interesting cheap mobiles offer us and especially how they differ. Only in that way will we be able to opt for one or the other when the Huawei also goes on sale in our country in the future.
Screen and dimensions
We are facing two phones that are very similar to each other, at least in their size, since they have a 6.63-inch Full HD + screen and no notch in the case of Huawei and 6.53-inch with Full HD + resolution with a perforated screen in the case of the Redmi.

In terms of dimensions, there are similarities, with a size of 163.5 x 76.5 x 9 mm and weight of 197 grams for the Huawei and 162.3 x 77.2 x 8.9 mm with 199 weight for the Redmi.

performance
In the case of Huawei we have a MediaTek Helio G80 processor , geared towards gaming and offering good performance. While the Note 9 has the G85 , the same processor but with a bit more speed than its clock frequency.

In the Huawei we have up to 8GB of RAM and in the Redmi Note 9 the maximum is 4GB. The maximum internal storage of both are 128GB expandable by cards, NM in the Huawei Y9a and microSD in the Xiaomi.
Camera
There are differences here, although they are not abysmal. Because they both have a quad camera, with the only difference being the main sensor, which is 64 megapixels on the Huawei and 48 megapixels on the Redmi .

Both also feature an 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel macro and 2-megapixel depth sensor. In front, the Huawei camera is emerging, with a 16-megapixel sensor, while the hole-punch camera on the Redmi Note 9 screen is 13-megapixel.

Battery, connectivity and software
In the battery the Redmi clearly wins, which has a 5020mAh and 18W fast charge . While the Huawei has a lower capacity, 4200mAh, although it can charge faster , with charges of 22.5W or 40W depending on the region in which it is sold.

The connectivity offers us NFC in both, as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB type C connector. In the software, you already know that Huawei loses, since although both phones have Android 10, this does not have the services and Google apps. The fingerprint reader on the Huawei is on the side, and on the Redmi on the back.
Conclusion
The Huawei Y9a undoubtedly attracts us due to its design identical to the Mate 30 , which in itself gives it a touch of a premium mobile. But we also like the screen without notch, since the camera is pop-up, and the main sensor of its camera with a higher resolution. In the Redmi we have a somewhat faster processor, as well as a larger battery as the main aspects in its favor.
As the Huawei has not been put on sale in Spain we cannot compare prices, but it is expected that it can be bought here around 200 euros or 220 euros. While the Redmi can be purchased in our country for around 180 or 190 euros. At the same price we would undoubtedly choose the Huawei , a more beautiful mobile, with a better camera, a pop-up front and a much better design, if you don’t mind that it does not have Google apps . If that is important to you, you must choose whether or not the Xiaomi . Although at the moment it is the only choice until the Huawei is put on sale in Spain.
