As we are accustomed to Xiaomi, it does not stop launching devices that offer us many similarities, this allows us to choose exactly what we want but also forces us to look at all the details. To try to get the next mobile right if we think about buying the Xiaomi Mi 10T or the Poco F2 Pro we have to compare them, two very similar models but with important differences.
The last to arrive has been the Xiaomi Mi 10T, a terminal that fits into the high range but with a very attractive price. The same can be said of the Poco F2 Pro that arrived two months ago as the great bet of the Poco firm that offers such good results. So that you have no doubts about which one is better, we are going to differentiate all its important points and then we will come to a conclusion.
Design and displays
The first point in which we are going to stop is in the design, since we can see that its rear part is very different. In the Mi 10T we have a camera module on the side in a rectangular format and in the Poco F2 Pro in a round format. Ahead, the front cameras also switch between a hole in the screen and a retractable camera to take better advantage of the entire front of the screen. The construction materials are based on glass and aluminum alloy in both cases, with a similar weight at 216 grams and 219 grams respectively.
On the screens we find the first big difference with IPS technology against AMOLED in the Poco , however its measurements are traced to 6.67 inches and the same pixels per inch. The best refresh rate is on the Xiaomi Mi 10T with 144 Hz and superior tactile response on the Poco to reach 180 Hz. The usable surface is slightly higher on the Poco since it does not have that little hole.
Two potential beasts
We cannot fault what has been achieved in both models, since they share the Snapdragon 865 processor, the most capable of this year. Along with this we find some difference in the technologies, giving the Mi 10T the winner by very little by including LPDDR5 RAM, somewhat higher than that of the Poco F2 Pro. Everything else will be the same, with the same UFS 3.1 storage technology.
They are so equal that even their options are very similar, we find 6 or 8 GB of RAM in both cases, but accompanied by 128 GB in the Mi 10T, something that is increased in the Poco F2 Pro to reach an option with 256 GB . In neither of the two can we expand the memory with the help of a MicroSD card.
Almost identical cameras
Although the position is not the same, the sensors do share many details. The main sensor is 64 Mpx in the two Xiaomi and Poco phones , coinciding again in the wide angle with 13 Mpx. The results in most situations will be placed, even in the third macro lens with 5 Mpx in both models. Finally, the Poco F2 Pro adds an extra 2 Mpx sensor to improve portrait mode.
There are no surprises ahead either, as we also have the same 20MP selfie camera signed by Samsung. In video recording in 4K and 8K is in both and the same happens with the digital image stabilizer that they incorporate.
Battery and connectivity to enjoy
We cannot ask for more either in the aspect of the battery, the Xiaomi Mi 10T offers us its 5,000 mAh along with a 33W fast charge, something that is slightly above the Poco F2 Pro with 4700 mAh and the 30W fast charge. Only the Mi 10T has a reverse charge, in case we need it. To this we must add the importance that both integrate refrigeration. The position of the fingerprint reader changes in both, in the Poco F2 Pro on the screen and on the side of the Mi 10T.
In connectivity, the possibility of 5G is what stands out the most in the two models, but we also have GPS, Bluetooth 5.1 LE and NFC to pay with the mobile . Infrared is also in both models but only the Poco F2 Pro maintains the audio jack .
MIUI 12 in front of the two mobiles
Xiaomi’s customization layer par excellence is the one that is present in both cases, but Poco also adds its own launcher to differentiate it slightly. We will have all the options in both cases and its customization possibilities will be traced, for example the Always On Display screen can only be used in the Poco F2 Pro as it has an AMOLED panel. The two integrate Android 10 under the hood and will receive both Android 11 in the coming months.
Prices and recommendation
The most expensive of the two phones is the Xiaomi Mi 10T, a mobile that we find for 449 euros in its 6 + 128 GB version. With a difference of 50 euros in favor of the Poco F2 Pro, we find this model for 399 euros in the same configuration.
When choosing one or the other we must take into account what concerns each of us the most as a user, although as we see they are very similar. On the one hand, the Poco F2 Pro is a better option due to the screen and design in our opinion, but the Mi 10T wins due to the technology of the interior and battery. The two mobiles are great options and with neither of them we will fail, but in our opinion the Poco F2 Pro is more worth it and we will also save money.
