The mobile comparisons are cables to help us make the best choice and this time the differences between the Redmi 9A and the Redmi 9C will be very important to know. A bad choice can make us buy the least recommended smartphone and so that this does not happen to you, we have to know how to choose between the two, no matter how similar it may seem at first.
The two arrived at the same time in Spain, with a joint presentation that offered more options in Xiaomi’s entry range for a very contained price. Ahead they have an important opponent such as the Realme C11 or others from the firm itself, although if what you want is MIUI 12, these options include it, as well as everything that we are going to know.
Design as the first difference
As soon as we observe both smartphones we see that they share things and in turn have changes. The first thing we observe is that the Redmi 9C adds a fingerprint reader on the back , while the Redmi 9A does not include it anywhere. The dimensions are the same, as well as the weight that only varies by 2 grams more in the Redmi 9C as it has a different camera module that we will know later.

The screens in both cases have 6.53 inches in HD + resolution , 20: 9 format and IPS LCD technology. There is no lack of TÜV Rheinland certification and scratch resistance on a screen headed by the notch in the form of a drop of water. The material is plastic in both cases, although with different color options where they share black and blue, adding green in the Redmi 9A and blue in addition to orange in the Redmi 9C.
Differentiated Mediatek processors
Another point where we see changes is inside, since the Helio G35 processor of the Redmi 9 C is slightly higher, having a frequency of up to 2.3 GHz and the Redmi 9A has an Ego G25 of 2 GHz. In both cases manufactured in 12 nanometers and with an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

The options when choosing a model change quite a bit since in the Redmi 9A we only have the possibility to buy the one with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of memory that we find short. In the Redmi 9 C, however, we find that option plus another with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of memory, in all cases of the eMMC 5.1 type and expandable via MicroSD.
Camera duel with only one winner
When we see the design we already realize that one of the main changes is in the cameras, since the Redmi 9A only has one lens and the Redmi 9C has a triple camera . This will help us decide, as it will be key to have only a 13 Mpx main lens as in the Redmi 9A or to also add 2 Mpx for macro mode and 2 Mpx to achieve portrait mode.

As for video, we cannot say much since we have Full HD resolution along with manual focus and the added options of MIUI 12 to achieve effects. The selfie cameras in both cases are 5 Mpx with f / 2.2 aperture.
Connectivity and battery
As they are not mid-range or high-end mobiles, it is evident that we will not have 5G, but what we do find is the audio jack, Dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, GPS, GLONASS and Beidou. Only the Redmi 9C has NFC in some options, so it will be important to make sure before buying any model. In the battery they both have 5,000 mAh with which to reach the end of the day without problems and a fast charge of 10W.

MIUI 12 with Android 10
In both cases we find the latest version of Xiaomi’s customization layer and they will be updated with Android 11 throughout 2020. However, in both cases we come across a slightly modified layer so that performance is as good as possible , losing options such as the multi window or floating windows. For everything else, there are two mobiles with all the apps of the Xiaomi system and the new control center.

Prices and purchase recommendation
The last thing we look at is its prices, putting our eye on the most complete and recommended option of the Redmi 9C with NFC, which offers 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of memory, for a price of 156 euros. On the contrary, the Redmi 9A without NFC and with 2 GB of RAM with 32 GB is at 123 euros. A minimal difference for everything that changes.
In the features we already saw that the Redmi 9C is better and now with the prices and options that we find, there is no doubt that buying the Redmi 9C is smarter . We will have a more powerful mobile, with more cameras, more memory and also NFC to pay.
