It does not matter the model or time that our mobile has because MIUI , one of the different ROMs of personalization that we find, offers us several methods to hit the key. Before the alarms go off we must keep calm, it is normal that the camera of our Xiaomi mobile phone fails in certain circumstances. All mobiles encounter specific problems and in most cases it is nothing more than an error that is solved with the simplest steps.
Update your mobile to the latest version
Perhaps the only thing that happens to our mobile is that it has an older version of the software and therefore we cannot use the camera properly. To check it we only have to go to Settings> About the phone> System updates and check if there is any new version.
In addition to this in Settings> System application updates, we can have a new version of the Xiaomi camera pending. This could be a reason to many of our problems, apps are always the big ones forgotten.
Are all photos blurred?

- First we activate the unknown sources from Settings> Additional settings> Privacy> Activate unknown sources.
- Then we downloaded the latest stable version of the GCam to our Xiaomi mobile from this website .
- We install the file that we have downloaded and open it to use it as our camera.
- The first GCam we tested is likely not working and we will have to find an alternative version. In various forums we can find information about the best GCam for our specific model.
Use the CIT menu to rule out errors
If nothing we’ve tried so far has worked, we’ll have to start thinking about a hardware failure . In some Xiaomi models it has been the case that the camera and other components are disconnected from the motherboard and therefore it is impossible to use it. To check this problem we will have to access the CIT menu from where we can carry out tests on all the lenses of our mobile.
To access this menu we have to write the code * # * # 64663 # * # * or * # * # 6484 # * # * regardless of our MIUI version. Once inside we go to the option called “Master Back Camera” to test the main lens, then in “Vice Back Camera” the secondary lens and “Back Camera Aux_” with the rest of the lenses. If we are not able to use the camera since this test, it is a hardware problem due to some blow or damage and we will have to contact Xiaomi technical support .
Hard Reset, the latest solution to camera problems on Xiaomi
When nothing that we have seen previously is able to recover and solve the problems with the camera of our Xiaomi mobile, we only have the Hard Reset. Before doing this, we must know that this process will delete all the data and leave our mobile as the first day, so we must save our most precious photos and files on another device or place.
- First we must turn off the device by pressing and holding the power button.
- With the mobile turned off, we press both “increase the volume” and the “power button” at the same time until we see the Xiaomi logo.
- We will move with the volume up and down keys, we will accept with the power button.
- Select the Wipe Data / Wipe Data option.
- Then we select Restart and then Reboot System Now.
Now we just have to wait for our mobile to delete all the data and turn it on again. When reconfiguring it we will have to have recovered the camera of our mobile.
