We are a few hours away from the start of the Apple Event on September 15, where the new Apple Watch Series 6 and the new generation iPad Air will be announced. These two launches would also be joined by the much talked about AirTags. Jon Prosser himself would have already seen this new accessory and shares with us the design that it will have and that could be safely revealed tomorrow.
Prosser reveals what the AirTags will be like
First in the form of a tweet Jon Prosser left a small preview of what would be his video on AirTags. In this photograph you could clearly see an accessory where the name ‘AirTag’ was seen along a circumference. Now he has been able to give more details in a video on his personal YouTube channel where he has offered complete photographs of what this accessory will be like, which for many will be essential.

Over the months we have seen numerous renderings of what the AirTags would look like and now the design can be confirmed. In particular we see an extremely clean circular accessory in white. On one of its fronts you can see the Apple logo on a silver surface as well as a series of inscriptions along the circumference. This can basically remind us of the back of any Apple Watch.
Beyond the design, what is truly interesting about this accessory lies in its interior. It includes ultra- wide band technology as it occupies a bandwidth greater than 5000 MHz, which allows it to send information packets of considerable size, specifically at 480 Mbits per second over a short distance. This corresponds to the technology that the latest iPhones with the U1 chip now include and that could open up the possibility of working with AirDrop in the future.
Usefulness of AirTags
This small accessory can be very useful to users. At launch, it would have the function of helping you find the keys, remote or wallet that you have lost and do not know where it is. You just have to open the ‘Find’ application on one of your devices and start tracking the location of your lost object. If you are close to it, it will be shown on the map where it is located. This is where the importance of being a small accessory comes in since it must be able to accompany different products without posing a problem. Right now on the market there are accessories similar to this one that work through Bluetooth, but with AirTags everything will be integrated with the ecosystem itself. With a couple of taps you can see what you have lost in the map view.

The problem that can occur is when you are not physically close to the object that you cannot find since it may be several kilometers from your location. This is solved in a very simple way since the AirTag will act as a beacon. It will always emit a signal that can be picked up by other iPhones that pass by, sending your approximate location to your device. Obviously the sending of this information is totally confidential and nobody will ever know that you are transmitting an AirTag signal. All this is what is currently known about its operation and that will be confirmed in the next few hours.
