Throughout its existence, Apple has achieved remarkable successes, but one of its most notable achievements in recent years has been the introduction of AirPods. From the initial release, Apple has continued to launch different models, and in this article, I will share my personal experience with both the AirPods Pro and the AirPods Max, revealing which I would prefer if I had to choose just one.
My experience with both headphones
As an avid fan of Apple AirPods, I am fortunate to have both the second-generation AirPods Pro and the AirPods Max in my collection. These two models offer exceptional features that enhance the overall user experience.
However, it’s important to note that they differ significantly in terms of size and usage, as size plays a crucial role in this comparison. The AirPods Pro, being compact and lightweight, are perfect for everyday use. They can be worn effortlessly throughout the day, and at times, you may even forget they’re in your ears. On the other hand, the AirPods Max prioritize comfort, but their larger size makes it evident that you are wearing headphones, which may not suit everyone’s preferences.
Personally, I utilize each model for distinct purposes. I reserve the AirPods Max for specific moments when I truly want to disconnect from my surroundings completely. Additionally, they provide an extra level of concentration that is beneficial in those situations. On the contrary, the AirPods Pro serve as my go-to headphones for various activities. I use them while engaging in sports or when I’m on the move throughout the day. Their discreet size allows for comfortable and convenient usage, often making me forget that I’m wearing them.
Which would I keep?
Having considered my experience with both the AirPods Pro and the AirPods Max, and acknowledging their exceptional noise cancellation and sound quality, my decision is not solely based on their features. Instead, I focus on other factors, particularly the price.
The AirPods Pro are priced at 299 euros, while the AirPods Max have a higher price tag of 629 euros (though I purchased them for 400 euros on Amazon). Despite the AirPods Max offering certain advantages for specific moments, I find that the AirPods Pro are able to serve as a wonderful replacement for them. The versatility of the AirPods Pro, allowing me to do anything while wearing them, sets them apart. On the other hand, the AirPods Max’s larger size and design, being over-ear headphones, restrict their usability in certain situations.
Considering all these factors, if I were to choose only one pair of headphones, I would opt for the AirPods Pro. Even if the AirPods Pro were priced at 629 euros, I would still choose these amazing headphones due to their versatility and overall performance.
