Gmail, Google’s mail service, is the most widely used in the world. Even if you’re used to using it every day, even if you think you know each and every one of its functions and features, the truth is that this mail service has a series of options that few users know about. They are customization alternatives that are not available at a glance or some configuration features that you may not know exist. We tell you eight Gmail tricks that will change your emails and the way you use this popular service.
If you want to get the most out of the service, these Gmail tricks are a must.

Add a signature to your emails
Surely many of the emails that arrive in your inbox, whether they are from companies or from people who work in one, arrive with a more or less corporate signature. But that option is not exclusive, far from it, of a company email. In your personal Gmail emails you can also add your signature to give a more sophisticated touch to your shipments.
We find the way to customize that signature in the general settings and in a couple of simple steps we will have it added to the bottom of our emails. We simply have to go to the Settings menu and click on the General tab. There we will see the signature options, to add text or image. We can also add a link in this signature, giving our mailings a more professional touch.

Translate emails
It is very useful if we receive an email in a language that we do not know or that we do not fully master. Google translate is integrated into this tool, so we won’t have to go through two steps to copy the text and paste it into another tab in the translator to see what it says.
We simply have to click on the three points next to the reply message button and click on Translate message to act.

Retrieve an email we just sent
If you regret sending an email or realize it contains a typo at the very moment you’re sending it, don’t despair. Gmail allows you to retrieve an email up to 30 seconds after pressing the send button. To configure email retrieval you must go to Settings and, once on that screen, navigate to the General tab until you find the option to Undo sending.
You can select the time to undo that shipment, which will be 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds. How to recover the mail? Very easy. When you send it, a pop-up message will appear that will notify you of the sent message and will give you the option to Undo, along with the option to view the message.

Open Gmail in HTML version
If we have few resources or a very slow Internet speed, we can trick the way we connect to Gmail to load a minimum version of the service that allows us to read and send emails without loading the entire visual interface that would take longer to appear on the screen. Complete version.
We must access through the following address: https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=html

Find the largest emails to free up space
When we have a full mailbox, the fastest way to free up space is to delete those emails that weigh the most . Whether because they contain images or videos or attachments, these emails can take up a large part of our storage.
To find these heavier emails, we must use the search bar and write the following command: size:Xmb, changing the X for the size in question. For example, if we want to search for emails that are larger than 10mb, it would be size:10mb to be able to delete them faster.
Schedule an email delivery
If, for example, you finish an email late at night and you think that the recipient may be annoyed that the mail arrives at that time, you can schedule the delivery for the next morning without problems. When you finish writing your message, you only have to click on the arrow that appears next to the send button and you will find the option to Schedule sending. There you will enter a menu in which to set when that email will be sent to the recipient.

Mark emails as read
If you have been on vacation or have simply neglected your inbox for a few days, you may have a lot of unread emails. If you are annoyed by having the unread message notification, you can kill it with a stroke of the pen.
Clicking on the button that allows you to select all the mails that appear on the first page of mail we will see that a message appears that encourages us to select all the conversations that we have in the Received folder, with which marking those mails as read will be much easier.

Find a specific attachment
Sometimes we search the list of received emails for a specific message that contained a valuable attachment for us. A work document or a guide to a city to which we are going to travel. We may not remember who made that particular shipment or it may be a person who sends you hundreds of emails with attachments, so the search can be complicated. However, there is a way to find that attachment, using a command in the search bar.
If we search for ‘filename:name of the attachment’ we will find that mail with that specific file.
