In general, the changes tend to come to improve the user experience. And this same idea has been why Google has decided to bet on a more or less radical change in design for YouTube Music. Although, it has not been given for now in a generalized way, but what is clear is that the company continues to bet on its streaming music service.
Even so, everything shows us that Google wants to continue creating trends with its streaming music service. Since, in case you did not know, the growth it has had in recent times has been one of the fastest in the West. The approach that the technological giant has carried out could mean a before and after, especially for those music lovers who only live from Spotify. But what has changed?
The great change of YouTube Music
The design of YouTube Music is going to change, although not for everyone at the moment. But what is really important is what this modification entails. The first thing to keep in mind is that the Library of this software will be completely changed . If before we saw a carousel within this section in which Recent Activity was shown with albums, songs, artists and playlists, now the redesign changes and looks more like Spotify than ever.
As can be seen in the images below (before and after), now we will no longer see all the sections that we have mentioned, plus the options for downloads, subscriptions, etc. As of this change, a list will be available that will show the content immediately without users having to touch another option first. This means that when you touch a song in this list, it will start playing immediately. Pretty much what happens on Spotify.
And although the fundamental value of this change is focused on the library, this being the main tab, the truth is that we will be able to change to other sections , be it Playlists, Albums, Artists… Although we must bear in mind that this change still It has not reached everyone, in addition to the fact that it has started with Android users.
The sections of the Library
As we have already mentioned, the Library tab will be the key to everything. However, from now on, once we enter this section, we will also be able to see the other categories (Songs, albums, artists and playlists). And it is that just below Library (Library, as it appears in the images) we will find the other sections so that we can filter.
In addition to that, a first list will also appear with the recent activity that we have had. Although this can be changed, since we can choose between the following options: recent activity, recently added or recently played.
And not only this, but a new function called ‘ View my ‘ has also been included in which we can switch to Downloads, Uploads and Files of the device. To access this tab, we will have to touch in the upper left corner, where you can by default Library.
