Actions such as removing objects from photos, removing an annoying grain from a selfie, and the like can seem complicated if you don’t have a minimum of knowledge of professional editing tools. However, it is not necessary to use this type of program for this, since there are applications that make it extremely easy and allow it to be done even from the iPhone or iPad. Today we analyze one of them: TouchRetouch
What is TouchRetouch? Is it free?

Surely something similar to what we mentioned at the beginning has happened to you; go to see the final result of a photograph and find an object that should not be there and that muddies the image. Or find that just at the moment we were taking a unique photo, a person appears from behind. They are very common situations and in the best of cases you can take the photo again, but unfortunately we do not always have a second chance. This is where the utility of applications like TouchRetouch comes in.
This application available for iPhone and iPad offers the possibility of eliminating these types of imperfections in a snapshot in a really simple way. It is not the only application of this style in the App Store and in fact there are some that fulfill their function in a really amazing way and even add other tools. However, we are struck by this for having the focus only on this action and because its price, 2.29 euros is quite affordable and it is probably worth it to those who look for these features.
Simplicity in abundance from the start

Probably “simple” and its different grammatical derivatives is the most repeated in this review, but the truth is that we cannot avoid highlighting this aspect as it is fundamental for a good handful of users who do not have great knowledge about photo editing applications. As soon as we open the application, we find three brief descriptions that serve as a sample of what TouchRetouch is capable of doing.
- Quick Repair – An option that will allow you to remove objects from a photo just by marking them.
- Elimination of lines: it is exemplified with a light cable that spoils a beautiful street photograph, since with this app it is possible to eliminate it and not lose an iota of photographic beauty.
- One-touch editing: a function that eliminates the typical stains that occasionally creep into our portraits.
Intuitive and tutorial interface
The interface once we have accessed the app is still … Guess what? Simple indeed. We only found three options that seem more than enough for what we will need.

- Albums: allows you to select photos from the iPhone or iPad gallery to edit.
- Tutorials : its own title clearly indicates it and it is possible to access multiple demos that help to understand the potential of each functionality of the application.
- Information: this tab contains all the data related to the application and its developers, as well as the possibility of evaluating the application, reporting a problem or even discovering other related apps.
Functions during editing
The star part of this application is the edition and although the tutorials we mentioned above explain it very well, the truth is that there is no possible loss once we get to it. When adding a photo to edit you will find at the top the useful buttons to undo or redo an action in case of making a mistake, as well as the buttons to return to the main screen or save and share when the final result is ready.
At the bottom is where we find the editing tools, which in turn have other options within themselves.

- Object removal : simple and simple tool that has the possibility of using a brush, lasso or eraser for the action of removing objects, as well as choosing the size of the brush or eraser.
- Quick repair : section in which we can trust everything to artificial intelligence by simply selecting a part of the photo with the brush.
- Elimination of lines : the tool that we mentioned in previous sections and that will be used to eliminate lines (worth the redundancy).
- Clone stamp : another very interesting function if instead of deleting a part of the photo you want to move it to another part of it. For example, imagine that in the background there is a forest that is somewhat bare, because with this tool you can clone the trees that do appear and populate the rest of the background with their image to give the impression that there are more elements.
Something to highlight positively is that during some processes we can find a part enlarged as a magnifying glass, in such a way that if we are editing a very small part of the photo we can be more precise.
IPhone vs iPad experience

Finding ourselves with applications adapted one hundred percent to iPhone and iPad is always an advantage. In fact, you can pay it once from one of these devices and forget about paying it for the other. In both teams it works in the same way, since they have identical tools and the only visual difference is that, of course, on the iPad it looks bigger.
Precisely the latter is important, since in the end editing photographs, however simple it may be, requires looking at many details and this is something that is more appreciated on a larger screen such as the iPad. Even on an iPad mini compared to an iPhone Max we believe it is more advisable to use the tablet. The way to guide you also during the edition with the use of brushes is also more comfortable on these devices, since you can also rely on accessories such as the Apple Pencil to be even more precise.
In any case, the iPhone application is just as valid and even if you use it mainly on the iPad, it can also be useful at certain times when you do not have the tablet at hand or you simply believe that it will be faster and more comfortable to do it on your mobile.
Conclusion: a round app
In this medium we analyze a multitude of applications and games with relative frequency with the aim of making you, the reader, know the endless possibilities offered by the App Store. Even in articles sponsored by a brand (this is not the case) we make sure that they are useful tools and that they cover a user need. In this case, we came across TouchRetouch a few months ago and although it is not a new application, it dazzled us from the first moment and it has not been until now that we have made the decision to bring its analysis. We believe that for the price it has and also not including in-app purchases, it is very worth it for those who are used to taking a lot of photographs with their devices.
To get a snag, we could accuse of not having other editing features. Everything that TouchRetouch offers can be found in some editing applications that have more functions, but we insist on emphasizing that in the end these can be more complex and this one focuses purely on this function.
