There are many settings that are pre-established in Android without us having to do anything, not even in the first steps that seem to us when we launch the mobile, among these options we find the points of the notifications in Android apps by default. However, this has ceased to be useful with the passage of the different versions of the Android operating system and many prefer to end this.

Luckily for everyone, from Android 9 to Android 11, we find an option designed to help us customize this section. When we say that Android is one of the operating systems with the most customization possibilities, we are not lying and in this case we are going to show you. This option remains in the same place and path in other smartphones even if they have layers of customization such as EMUI or MIUI, changing only the name.
Why is there a dot above the applications?
There are several of you who already know why this point is due, but there are other people who, especially when launching a new mobile phone, wonder why there is a point above the different apps. As you can see in the images, the points can appear in any app, messaging or any other and corresponds to a notification. If we look at the top bar, we will see a notification from the same app and if we download it, we can directly access the notification.

This is what many users want to remove, known as notification points. It serves as a tool that avoids us having to lower the notification bar and be able to see what alerts we have in each app , although however from here we will not know the notification until we access, that is why the utility is currently minimal.
How to activate or deactivate notification points
In case we want to remove the points from the notifications , we just have to follow these simple steps that we are going to explain and show you. If you are interested in returning them on any occasion, you just have to follow the same steps, but in this case, to activate them:

- We enter the mobile Settings.
- We go to the Applications and notifications section.
- Now we touch on Notifications.
- We go down between all the options and touch on Advanced.
- Now we can touch on the option “Notification bubbles” in the application icon.
Just by doing this and returning to the home screen, we can see that now that little dot in the applications has disappeared, but the notifications are still visible on the top bar.
