“My joy in a well”. This is what the first users of the Redmi Note 8 must be thinking who waited like water in May for the update to MIUI 12 and have discovered how it, inexplicably, has left out functions of Android 10 that, as well as other devices , they should get to the phone.
Users have begun to gather in forums and the Xiaomi support center to criticize that the brand seems to have forgotten to include various functions in the first update of Android 10 and MIUI 12 for the global version of the Redmi Note 8. As reported by the affected, version V12.0.1.0.QCOMIXM has not included several functions of the operating system that the brand assured would reach the phone.
Xiaomi launched just a few days ago the global version of MIUI 12 for the Redmi Note, after months of waiting. But according to various publications on Mi.com, the smartphone does not have the new Android 10 navigation tablet , nor the animations that Xiaomi has introduced in its operating system. Also missing are some of Xiaomi’s new gallery features as well as the option to enable floating windows .
The most curious thing of all is that the brand itself, in its different update documents, states that the Redmi Note 8 is one of the devices that should support some of these functions that disappeared in the MIUI 12 update, such as floating windows. . This, unsurprisingly, has infuriated the brand’s mid-range owners.
Is there an explanation?
Of course, it was not expected that all MIUI 12 functions would reach all eligible devices due to hardware requirements and therefore Xiaomi announced long ago that there would be different versions of MIUI 12, some more capable than others. However, those affected do not complain about it but that it is not very clear what characteristics the new software presents due to the fact that the change log is quite incomplete, as you can see in the following image:
Many of these users are criticizing the brand for this seemingly half-done MIUI 12 update for their device. At the moment it is not clear why Redmi Note 8 users have received a decaffeinated version of MIUI 12, something quite inexplicable especially after the time they have been waiting for this update.
Very useless update because MIUI 12 global for Redmi Note 8 arrives without some features, without navigation pill, without new animations, without new functions in the gallery and without floating window in the status bar.
Very disappointed in Xiaomi, we waited a lot but we did not receive anything alone and only received a useless update.
