When SONY first showed the aesthetic design of its new PS5 console, it surprised both locals and strangers for both good and bad, but what really caught the eye is the large size of the console, something we could see when the first real image of the console . And it is that the PS5 has a considerable size , to the point that it has earned the dubious honor of being the largest console in history, but how does it compare to other consoles? Let’s see it.
Although SONY has not confirmed the exact measurements, it has not been difficult to deduce them by seeing the real images of it, and from them create renders to be able to compare their size with the rest of the consoles on the market. Thus, it has been deduced that the PS5 has a size of 38 x 31 x 10 centimeters (the variation will be millimeters, if there is one). Surely these dimensions do not tell you anything by themselves, so we are going to see them in perspective.
The size of the PS5 compared to the rest
With these dimensions on paper, and as we mentioned before, it does not take much work to create rendered images to see the size compared to other consoles whose exact dimensions are known, such as the new Xbox Series X from Microsoft that It measures 30.1 x 15.1 x 15.1 centimeters.
It is obvious that the PS5 is quite, much larger than the Xbox Series X, and see that the latter is already quite larger than the Xbox One. The Xbox Series X is somewhat wider than the PS5 given that it has a design square at the base, but the PS5 is considerably higher and much, much deeper than the Microsoft console.

An awkward console to locate
The size and weight of the PS5 (which, by the way, has been confirmed to weigh 4.78 Kg compared to 4.45 Kg for the Xbox Series X, which is also considerable) are factors that concern many users, more than for the discomfort of taking it from one place to another (something that is not frequent, because the normal thing is to leave it installed and not move it at all) because it will be difficult to locate it where we are going to use it.
With a height of no less than 38 centimeters it will be difficult to find a place to put it, first so that it fits, and second so that it does not hinder. Since it is normal to put the console in the living room to play on a large TV, not many users will have space in the TV cabinet to locate a console of these dimensions standing, which is its natural position according to SONY.
