OnePlus mobiles can boast some of the best layers of personalization for smartphones. Once you have tried OxygenOS you discover functions that until then you did not think were so useful and now they are to be increased through the IDEAS Program, intended to collect user suggestions for future functions that will be implemented in the operating system.
The program turned out to be a success because, if OnePlus can boast of anything, it is to have a huge community of users behind it. With more than 5,000 proposals, last September, OnePlus launched Subversion 2.0 of the program that ended last week.

New OxygenOS Features
Of all the ideas proposed by users, these are the new functions that OxygenOS will bring to OnePlus mobiles:
- Separate volume for each application and dual media playback : This idea explained would allow each application to have its own volume setting. It would also prevent audio from other applications or even systems from sounding like a phone call, interrupting what the user is currently listening to. In this way, users can grant or deny permission to any app that wants to pause music.
- Partial Screenshot – With this feature, taking a screenshot would allow users to select a specific part of the image to save. This would be particularly useful when saving screenshots of social media pages, where only a certain area or image is the point of interest.
- Lock screen customization : The idea is to give more freedom regarding how the OnePlus mobile lock screen works and looks with different clocks, shortcuts and even weather information.
- Wireless file transfer from PC to mobile and vice versa : This feature would work similar to AirDrop, allowing users to exchange files between their OnePlus and the computer with one click.
- FPS Counter in Game Space : Displaying the FPS rate on mobile would allow users to check the performance of games.
- Dark mode instead of gray : Dark mode has become a problem as more applications have started to adopt it. Android has had a native Dark Mode setting for about a year, but it seems that OnePlus users want to take it further with shades of black instead of gray to further unify the system interface with third-party apps.
- Power Diet : An extreme power saving feature for OnePlus mobiles that will limit features and services, and only allow the user to use things like calls and text messages just like other phones from LG and Samsung.
Now that these ideas have been “adopted” by OnePlus based on user suggestions, it only remains to wait for the brand to integrate them into future versions of OxygenOS.
